editHello, Jenniobidike, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests, have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

Hello Emir,
Thank you for your messages. I would like some help improving the page and making it as Wikipedia friendly as possible. 1) Can you please let me know where to insert the WP:PAID stamp as well as the other information you requested and 2) let me know what else needs to be done to make the article work. Someone else has edited the page entirely. I think they have now made the page read as it's supposed to. So please let me know what else needs to be done and please send instructions on how to do this. Thank you for your help. Jenniobidike (talk) 15:01, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- The declaration of paid editing should go on your user page at User:Jenniobidike. That page doesn't yet exist, but you can create it and add the note of disclosure.
- I have moved the article on Angus to Sam Angus (writer); we have articles on several other people named "Sam Angus", and there's no indication the writer is the primary topic for that name, so disambiguation is necessary.
- The article seems rather short on information about Angus and instead has various plot summaries (or, maybe more accurately, sales blurbs) plus praise from people with an interest in promoting Angus, such as her publisher. That's not really what you'd expect from an encyclopedia article about an author, is it? Rather, we should summarize what independent sources have reported about Angus herself. If there's critical commentary on her work, that's also helpful, but merely summarizing the plots won't help our readers' understanding of the author.
- Emir of Wikipedia may also want to comment. Huon (talk) 18:43, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- I think that Huon has pretty much covered it. Thanks. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:19, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Hello Huan, thank you very much for your help. I will work on improving this. Also, is it acceptable to cite publications from magazines and newspapers if they are NOT online sources? The majority of credible citations I have would be coming from magazines and newspapers but from the early 90s.Jenniobidike (talk) 10:39, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- It really depends on how you cite it, but newspapers would be considered opinions. Xyaena /\ Shoot a reply! 12:39, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Newspaper articles not in the opinion or op-ed sections would not be opinion pieces. To answer Jenniobidike's question: yes. Just cite as much information on the source as possible, so that I could, theoretically, find the article you cite in a library. Whether the sources you provide fulfill Wikipedia's notability requirements, both general and specific to biographies, is another matter. Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 03:57, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Welcome!
editHello, Jenniobidike, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Sam J. Angus, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 16:57, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

editHello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Sam Angus (writer), from its old location at User:Jenniobidike/sandbox/Sam Angus (writer). This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 17:31, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
