License tagging for Image:ClubPatch.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:ClubPatch.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:05, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Biker Dogs Motorcycle Club
editThe main problem is the "our" part. Please read this article. We strongly discourage members of groups to write articles on their own group just like we strongly discourage people from writing articles on themselves. Doing so is considered advertising as well since you are essentially promoting your group by posting it here. If your group is notable enough for inclusion, others will write articles on it. Having said that, I decided to restore the article. But. I am going to edit it so it fits our policies a bit better. Maybe that will help you see what kind of articles are acceptable here. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 08:33, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Do you have a link to the San Francisco Chronicle article anywhere? I found one for the Oakland Tribune article. If possible, it's a very good idea to provide links when you make statements like "they have been reported in newspapers such as..." Helps with verifiability--WoohookittyWoohoo! 08:47, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. Just one thing though. Please sign your posts. That link tells you how. We have a specialized way of signing names on here. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 08:52, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for contributing to Joseph Priestley!
editThanks for adding the fact about the asteroid named after Joseph Priestley to the article! That was really quite interesting. If you have any information (published in a reliable source) about why the asteroid was named after Priestley, perhaps we could add that as well. Awadewit (talk) 21:22, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, the why of the naming asteroid 5577 after Priestley is already covered on the page about the asteroid. Clicking on the 557 Priestley internal link answers this question AND the citation given (Dict. of Minor Planets) also explains how the name was arrived at. I am just learning about being an editor on Wikipedia. Hope I did this last one okay and thanks to everyone for their suggestions! Jesse --Jessecarllane (talk) 00:28, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- You did a great job! If you have any questions about editing Wikipedia, please feel free to ask me. Whatever I don't know, I will find someone who does.
- Joseph Priestley is a featured article, so we tend to worry more about the flow of the prose than we do on other articles, which haven't been as rigorously researched. I checked out the reason for the naming of the asteroid. I think that might be a little difficult to explain to a lay audience in a reasonably concise sentence, so perhaps we should leave it out - the Priestley article is already on the long side, as I'm sure you noticed!
