Hello

Speedy deletion nomination of The Webkinz

edit

A tag has been placed on The Webkinz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removing Speedy at The Webkinz

edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with The Webkinz. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 00:57, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The Webkinz

edit

A tag has been placed on The Webkinz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hairhorn (talk) 22:44, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your block

edit

That last page move of yours was confusing and unhelpful, but it's going to take me a few minutes to clean up. I've blocked you from editing for 24 hours so I can clean it up without your moving the talk page again. Thanks. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:47, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Okay, it's fixed- I have no idea what you were trying to do by moving an article into your userspace instead of just adding the required sources, but next time, please, just leave the article where it is and simply make the necessary improvements. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Talk to me if you like. Do you want to be unblocked, now that I've fixed the redirects from that page move? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:53, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nick @ Nite (programming block)

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Nick @ Nite (programming block), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Nick at Nite. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Nick @ Nite (programming block)

edit

Hi - I just converted this page to a redirect. If you're trying to say that the block has formally changed its name, then:

  1. You need to cite a reliable source to show this;
  2. The appropriate action would be to move the page Nick at Nite to a new title (which should probably be Nick @ Nite), in order to retain that page's edit history.

Let me know if you have questions. Gonzonoir (talk) 10:34, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

ETA: moving the page might be controversial, so if you do want to pursue that approach please first propose the move on the article's talk page and gain consensus before you go ahead. Gonzonoir (talk) 10:35, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:File:ValuJet DC-9.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:File:ValuJet DC-9.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

No offense but you should have been on Flight 592 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.200.237.193 (talk) 18:09, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ospalh (talk) 12:26, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of FRED (YouTube series)

edit

A tag has been placed on FRED (YouTube series) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Template:Infobox baseball team

edit

Please be aware that the recent changes you made to Template:Infobox baseball team caused the template to display incorrectly on all 500+ pages that use it. Even seemingly minor changes like changing "Name" to "name" can damage the template. I have reverted all of your changes. Feel free to add information to such templates, but please refrain from changing existing input parameters (such as: {{{name}}}).-NatureBoyMD (talk) 01:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Funsquared

edit

A tag has been placed on Funsquared, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 13:05, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:Zeiterion Logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Zeiterion Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZooFari 00:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
