Fascism Portal

edit

I havent seen a bibliography on any other portal page, and wouldn't know how to make a new type of section from scratch. Any list of books which appeared on a portal would have to be small, I assume, for reasons of space.

I would suggest adding your list to the WikiProject Fascism page and then the other project members can work on it, and someone who knows how can add a list of half a dozen or so definitive titles to the portal. I think that would be better than simply adding a list.

Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!

Sources - thanks!

Thanks for that, Joe! I haven't checked it yet, but the magazine mentioned appears to have online archives official and via FindArticles so these may be very useful sources.

BTW, it looks like nobody ever dropped you the standard welcome message, even though you've been here for years! I'll put it below because the links are very useful (even after 3 years here, I'm still refering to them). Happy editing!

WikiProject Military history/Coordinators

edit

Joe 04:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Glad to be helpful. Lately I've been sidelined by assisting the Red Cross in flood relief efforts in Northern NJ, USA, and support services for the New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch, NJ. Soon there will be military re-enactments involving WWII radios in Pennsylvania, and I hope to make a re-enactment at Monmouth Battlefield. Locally, the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteers did a Civil War re-enactment encampment at Lambert Castle in Passaic County, which is interesting, especially the display of the limited medicines and medical devices available at the time--making it look more like instruments of torture than surgery and healing. There is a re-enactment group that does a Ft. Ticonderoga encampment, but I'm not sure I can make it this summer. One of my circle has done a paper on Ft. Hancock, at Sandy Hook, and I have encouraged him to distill some of his findings for Wikipedia as well. I came across a group that collects US military trucks, and have an image from Gulf War I (c 1990-1991) to send you that is probably very rare, as most of the trucks in this unit had the "nose art" painted over, and it would be a shame to lose it. Is there a wikipedia mailing address I could send it to, where you could look it over, to decide the most appropriate way to handle it? Best, Joe.Reply

Joe 05:36, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Just an update. I went on a trip to Antietam battlefield, then did a lot of research into the terrain, strategy and tactics in Afghanistan, particularly on the "Battle of the Caves." Hiked the Palisades, reviewing some of the steps of the Continental Army on the retreat from the Battle of Brooklyn. But too busy to get to the reenactment at Fort Ticonderoga. A return trip to Gettysburg is in the offing.Reply
