First, remember that the nominator has a comment too, so there were 3 comments suggesting deletion and 2 suggesting merging. The comments to merge gave no reasoning; comments that don't give reasoning are less persuasive when closing (see WP:AADD#Just a vote). There was a resonable argument of policy violation in the AfD; it was argued there that the article had no reliable sources and no explanation as to why the product was notable, and there were no arguments in the other direction, giving only a weak case for 'merge' (which would have ended up in the redirection of the article anyway. If you think that the article did have useful information that could be merged, I suggest you find a reliable source for it and add it to the target article yourself; if you still want to dispute this decision or if you think you have new information relevant to whether the article should be deleted, you could go to deletion review. I hope that clears things up! --ais523 08:03, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- The reason given by SpigotMap is clearly wrong and show his lack of knowledge about the subject. The argument given by RFerreira is also misplaced : this is a hardware device used for various things, like running homebrews. Merge with [this article] would have been the best solution (as MMD is already mentioned).Jidoo 08:29, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- If you think that there are reliable sources and that the article was verifiable, could you provide some? Making assertions isn't really enough; evidence is needed, to prove to Wikipedia's readers that the article is correct. And if you find some sources, there isn't even a need to overturn the AfD; you could just add the sources and information to the target article yourself. --ais523 12:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
