If you wish to file a deletion review, follow the steps at Wikipedia:Deletion_review#How_do_I_do_all_this.3F. Your first attempt erased another unrelated discussion. Tarc (talk) 19:52, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I am Chris the Paleontologist, and the reason I nominated the page for deletion was because I felt that the Church of Latter Days did not meet Wikipedia's inclusion standards, such as the general notability guideline. The existence of a topic is not enough to warrant a Wikipedia article. Potential topics for Wikipedia articles must be "notable"—in this sense, it generally means that the topic must have received "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" (the general notability guideline). I searched for independent, reliable coverage of your church, but did not find any books, independent and reliable websites, or news articles discussing it, and I thus felt it qualified for deletion. If you can present any sources that would satisfy notability guidelines, I'd be quite happy to take a second look. Chris the Paleontologist (talkcontribs) 20:10, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi, James. I do not have the power to undelete articles, but you could ask one of these users. Regardless, I still think it would be better for you to rewrite the article, then take it through the "Articles for creation" process where it will be reviewed by an experienced editor to make sure that it meets inclusion standards. Typically, Wikipedia's standard of inclusion is the general notability guideline. From personal experience, I can tell you that the forum discussion will not count as a reliable source, but that the television interview might. Best of luck with whichever direction you decide to take the article. Regards, CtP (tc) 21:01, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:conflict of interest as your comment to Chris on his talk indicates that you are closely connected to the church. Wikipedia is not here for promotion of "something new". I would say that a single TV interview is not sufficient to establish WP:notability and agree with Chris that the forum post is not a WP:reliable source. Also note that I've formatted your post on Chris' talk for readability by adding a ":" to indent rather than just blank spaces. Vsmith (talk) 22:24, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
