Ronald McDonald's creator
editWho really did create Ronald McDonald Willard Scott or did Voorhis/Teene? I hope to be able to talk to you Jimmknows!!! Plyjacks (talk) 20:49, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Willard Scott. I knew George Voorhis from 1968, when I married one of his daughters, until his death in 1989. I'm not sure how Terry Teene became connected to Voorhis, I never met him or ever heard George talk about him. But he did mention Willard Scott. Scott, being a well known TV clown at the time, was approached by the owner of a McDonalds franchise in the Washington, DC area in 1963 to develop a character for local advertising purposes. Ronald McDonald was the result. By the time Voorhis got involved, the character of Ronald had evolved somewhat. JimmKnows (talk) 13:52, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Your story seems more true Jimmknows. If you knew George Voorhis then you should know better than most of us. So now it's hard to believe the Terry Teene story now. But the Willard Scott story is more true. Thank you so much Jimmknows. Plyjacks (talk) 16:43, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
I got a good feeling that George Voorhis and Terry Teene created the 2nd Ronald that everyone knows! Terry Teene and Willard Scott seem like great people! BraintreeDude1640 04:48, 14 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plyjacks (talk • contribs)
