You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stephen Hendry. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Gwernol 16:35, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

WalterMitty has been blocked for 24 hours for continuing to edit war. I don't have an opinion about the content of the article. I just want to ensure that everyone sticks to Wikipedia's basic rules, including WP:3RR and (in WalterMitty's case) not removing proper sources from articles. Thanks for attempting to resolve this by going to editor review - that's a good step. Please don't continue to edit war - you have already exceeded the 3RR limit and I would have blocked you, except you had not yet received a warning. Thanks, Gwernol 16:47, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for taking a reasonable approach - dispute resolution would be an appropriate next step. Best, Gwernol 16:57, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Discussion regarding Hendry article

edit

I've been sent over by the Mediation Cabal to see about the case you have listed. Shall we discuss it on the article talk page? Sunray (talk) 03:31, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I note that the other party won't be around for awhile. However, I'm willing to discuss the issues if you like. Sunray (talk) 04:18, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response on the article page. I'll reply there. However, I've got two requests:

  • Would you be able to condense your replies significantly? This will help us get the issues on the table in a timely way and thus find common interests and then, (hopefully), solutions.
  • When you are speaking (writing), I would like to hear your views and "I" messages rather than "you" messages. Would you be willing to not refer to WalterMitty in your replies, unless you are addressing him directly? Sunray (talk) 23:58, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

One more thing: Would you be willing to hold off editing the article until we have an agreement? Sunray (talk) 00:30, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for demonstrating your agreement in your postings on the talk page! Sunray (talk) 03:00, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nice work! I've closed the case. Sunray (talk) 07:34, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted your change to the Stephen Hendry page. I don't know who removed it but I see the consensus from the dispute was that calling someone the "greatest player" is a strong subjective view and the agreement (which I note you were part of) was to quote directly from an official WSA source. In view of that I've reverted your edit because you haven't restored the source which i think you really need to do to put a statement like that back in. Articles for deletion nomination of IONA Debating Circuit

edit

I have nominated IONA Debating Circuit, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IONA Debating Circuit. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Codf1977 (talk) 15:06, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
