Fred, Brooke and Bennett LeBow had no involvement with this man or this project and it was never built when we researched it. . Please remove this because it is not correct information. 66.248.183.138 (talk) 13:39, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I do not see how this is possible, when the article cited in the NYT states
"The photograph was taken in late 1995 at a Democratic fund-raising party in Miami, Mr. Rabinovich said. He said he had not donated money to the Democrats, but had been invited to the event by Bennett S. LeBow, an American businessman whose interests include the Liggett Group, the big cigarette manufacturer. Mr. LeBow's Brooke Group and Mr. Rabinovich are developing a business center and luxury hotel in Kiev, according to a spokesman for Mr Lebow"
Since it is unclear whether the projects were completed, I am changing "developed" to "participated in the development of"
The reference to the book "Red Mafia" is available on the Internet Archive.

"he's (Rabinovitch) developing the country's first five-star hotel as part of an international consortium whose main backers include Bennett LeBow, the chief executive of U.S. tobacco company."
Also, according to the Washington Post,
"Rabinovich did not contribute any money, but he attended the Clinton-Gore fund-raiser at the Sheraton Bel Harbor Hotel as a guest of Bennett S. LeBow, chairman of Miami-based Brooke Group Ltd., parent of the Liggett Group, a cigarette manufacturing company. Rabinovich was an adviser on the construction of a hotel LeBow is building in Kiev, according to a spokesman for LeBow. LeBow was unaware of Rabinovich's background at the time of the fund-raiser, the spokesman said." Mr LeBow said this is unequivocally incorrect. He was not involved in such a development ever and this is incredibly negative to print such an affiliation occurred with a Russian mob boss. Would you like to speak to Mr LeBow's attorney? Can we arrange a call with the Kasowitz law firm as soon as possible so you are assured that he never had such an affiliation with him in any potential business venture. In business, as you know, there are individuals ("promoters") that like to state such affiliations to brag, promote their brand, use others to create credibility.etc at the expense of others. Mr LeBow has an impeccable reputation and magnanimous career so please remove this reference and focus on all the positive things he did such as claim cigarettes cause cancer. Please do your research. It was a landmark case . 66.248.183.138 (talk) 17:53, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
If LeBow's denials have appeared in a published reliable source, we can look at adding that as a counter-point. Otherwise, the article will go with what has been printed in reliable sources.
Regarding the mention of a law firm, please review no legal threats before mentioning them again. —C.Fred (talk) 14:11, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Fred, I was only mentioning a lawyer so you would feel comfortable knowing that it is true that Mr. LeBow was never involved in a proposed development of a hotel in Kiev. That was not a threat. He owned the largest cigarette factory in Russia. Can you kindly print his denials as a counterpoint. He deserves tremendous accolades for the landmark case letting the world know that cigarettes cause cancer. 66.248.183.138 (talk) 14:46, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I tried to find a reliable source in which Lebow denies having a business relationship with Rabinovich that we could additionally print, as a matter of fairness. Instead, here is what I found:
"LeBow is a longtime player in both the cigarette and real estate industries in Russia and Ukraine. Among his former business partners is Vadim Z. Rabinovich, a Ukrainian politician who was elected to parliament in 2014 as part of the pro-Russia party that employed Manafort before he signed onto Trump's campaign."

This is so strange because he never had a business relationship with him after learning his background. it does not even make sense he has been Chairman of a large public company for so many years at Vector. Again, I am happy to put an attorney on a call with you that handled the tobacco case so he can back this up for you. Please dont print an untruth . this is a great honorable man that does not deserve this. Jlebow112 (talk) 14:31, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The information in the article is based on reliable sources, including the New York Times. Any additions will need to be backed up by published, reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 16:08, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
We are going to see if we can find something for you. How about a letter from a law firm. mark Kasowitz handled the tobacoo settlement and has been Mr LeBow's attorney for many years. Will that work? Jlebow112 (talk) 19:10, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
OK It worked Algyx0262 (talk) 19:32, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
No. A letter to the editor in a newspaper would only provide the attorney's opinion. We prefer actual stories from the newspapers, with the journalistic research and the papers' editorial processes involved. —C.Fred (talk) 12:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is COI and possible legal threats at Bennett S. LeBow (BLP). Thank you. Wracking talk! 04:54, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

It is becoming difficult to understand the true intentions of what people are saying here, which is understandably a problem in a written form of communication such as this. I vote that we remove the contended material and then lock this portion of the biography to prevent the continued reversion by other Wikipedia members. It is just one part of an entire biography, and simply not worth the trouble. At the very least, a Wikipedia banner stating the neutrality of the material is contested (I have seen them) or a banner stating the facts are contested is a possibility (if such a banner exists), though I still believe that outright removal and locking at least this portion of the biography, perhaps indefinitely, would be the best way to go. Algyx0262 (talk) 06:24, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Can you please remove this . I vote the same . Obviously, these so called reliable sources are just not reliable. Jlebow112 (talk) 12:35, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have failed to present any reliable sources to counter what's presented in the New York Times, among other sources. WP:NYTIMES shows that the community considers the New York Times to be a reliable source. None of the information you question relates to medicine, which is the only area the community has expressed concern.
On the other hand, WP:NYPOST shows that the community considers the New York Post to not be reliable. That means the following sentence should be struck from the biography unless a reliable source is found:
As of 2014, Bennett LeBow is married to Jacqueline Finkelstein-LeBow, the principal of real estate investment firm JSF Capital.[1]
This was likely not your intent, but this is the result of challenging the reliability of sources and having editors starting going through references closely. —C.Fred (talk) 12:26, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Would you like to see my marriage license ? 66.248.183.138 (talk) 20:11, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
As you know, reporters do not report when deals are not consummated so it would be impossible to provide that for you. We would like to see where it states that my Bennett LeBow did any deal in Ukraine. I don’t think you will find a reliable source to back up that a deal was ever done. Kindly please produce this. 66.248.183.138 (talk) 20:14, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can't verify the source, because it's paywalled, but there's a 1997 NYT article cited as the source. —C.Fred (talk) 12:18, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
he truly never did anything in Ukraine or with this man
Secondly, can you kindly fix the date of our marriage . We were married in 2014 and if you provide an email I will send you the marriage certificate :) 108.21.186.138 (talk) 11:23, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

"As of…"

Regarding the following sentence in Bennett S. LeBow:

As of 2021, Bennett LeBow is married to Jacqueline Finkelstein-LeBow of JSF Capital.

This means that we have reliable sources to report that the two were married in 2021, but we have no sources for any point after that. It's not saying that the wedding took place in 2021.

We would need a separate source to support the claim that they got married in 2014—and records of marriage licenses and the like are not acceptable per WP:BLPPRIMARY. —C.Fred (talk) 03:38, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Fred, I am his wife we were married in June of 2014. Here is another article we were married. PLease remove the reference to doing a development in Ukraine when you do not have one single source that a development was ever done. Never happened.

Howard Lorber appeared with his Vector Group partner, Bennett LeBow, and his wife and financier, Jacqueline LeBow. The article does not mention when they were married. —C.Fred (talk) 02:44, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
As for the Ukraine deal, the source says Mr. LeBow's Brooke Group and Mr. Rabinovich are developing a business center and luxury hotel in Kiev, according to a spokesman for Mr. LeBow. That's what's reflected in the article. —C.Fred (talk) 02:50, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
You misunderstand the sentence. It means that you were still married in 2021,the last time a reliable source reported on it - not that your wedding was in 2021. Simonm223 (talk) 03:01, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
