re Image:WilhelmRüstow5.gif

edit

This image looks like its old enough to be in the public domain, but when you uploaded it you said it could only be used for noncommercial use, which means that someone holds a copyright such that they can apply restrictions to use of the image. Do you have any more information about this? I have deleted the image as Wikipedia cannot use restricted files. You can upload it again if you can get ahold of a free copy. Message me if you have any questions. Cheers, Herostratus 23:55, 30 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

What map?

edit

Johannes, your draft map is not showing on the Humanities Desk, merely a little red cross! Clio the Muse 00:15, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have converted it in a PNG-File. Now you can see the map. Thanks for your advice -- jlorenz1 01:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Laughing Cavalier

edit

As the uploader of File:Cavalier soldier Hals-1624x.jpg, could you help us out here? One user seems to have problem with the source information of this image, see Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Laughing Cavalier by Frans Hals. Thanks, Rubenescio (talk) 08:02, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message, but I can't guess what is your problem. It is a famous picture. The hyperlink of the source is actuall reachable. I can't see any difference in white colour and texture, but I'm not an expert. In my memories I didn't edit this image. So if you want actualize the image, please do it. In my memories this image was only important to show the differnce between "roundhats" und "cavaliers" in the english cicil war during Oliver Cromwell's regime.
