scout.com image
editHi,
The image you uploaded from scout.com (Image:208548.jpg) is in an interesting situation. It's unusual to see a website acknowledge the fair use doctrine and try to give terms on how to invoke it.
They appear to be trying to impose a license upon anyone who wants to use any of their content under the "fair use" doctrine. If this license is legitimate — which I doubt — then their constraint #4 means you can't upload it to Wikipedia: this is a networked computer.
If the license is not legitimate, then sports photos like this don't fall under fair use guidelines. In either case, the photo is not usable. Please don't upload any further content from scout.com.

- After writing the above I also noticed you used an incorrect license tag on the image. "Web-screenshot" is for screenshots of web pages on articles about web pages, like the Google article. In general you cannot grab images from the Web and post them to Wikipedia. Everything is copyrighted. There are some fair use exceptions that are narrow; see Wikipedia:Fair use. Drop me a note on my talk page if you have any questions. Thanks - Tempshill 22:56, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. It's quite a bitch getting sports photos that are acceptable on Wikipedia. Nearly all of them were taken by SI or ESPN or the NBA or whoever. The most commonly acceptable photo is a photo the athlete releases to promote himself, but this is usually a really boring headshot. You could always take photos yourself and upload them, if you want to be a Hero of Wikipedia. Cheers - Tempshill 23:08, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
