Great recession
editWhen you add material like tat it is neither WP:V or WP:N as there is no WP:RS - please try to verify such claims otherwise it can be designated as WP:OR. Trust the batch of acronyms are good leads to understand why it was reverted JarrahTree 08:59, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
Mobile editing
editWhen updating Wikipedia, it is difficult to add References!!
I always add factual information that is correct, but my Edits get reverted a lot because on Mobile it is difficult to add a reference.
When I do give direct searchable sources, To date ALL WIKI EDITORS ARE TOO LAZY TO ADD A REFERENCE !!!! INSTEAD THEY DELETE THE FACTUAL AND ACCURATE UPDATE TO THE ARTICLE.
It is sad that I cannot easily add a reference via mobile and Wikipedia editors constantly delete factual updates to articles.
Some Wiki articles are “fake news” preferring to reference discredited work rather than use facts generated by scientific consensis.
To the end, Wikipedia can at times litterally be “full of fucking shit” as the references are generally news websites and will place a preference for fake news over a published peer reviewed paper. (I have properly reference md peer reviewed scientific papers to have my edit removed because of some newspaper article written for children says otherwise).
Shame, shame, shame on Wikipedia for allowibg false information to maintain the status quo over actual facts and scientific conclusion. Jason Notary 17:41, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jason Notary: No editor is obliged to do research to support your additions; any expectation otherwise is misguided. You cannot command others to find reliable sources for you; that burden is on the person attempting to introduce the information to the article. If you can't be bothered to get to a desktop or laptop to find and cite these "direct searchable sources" then you're probably not very dedicated to including the information in the first place. - @Jason Notary: Thank you for finding a source. However, your claim that the Half of All version "is early 2017" is not supported by the iTunes page you found, which instead lists November of that year as the release date. Please see this AllMusic page, which lists the release date of Camila Cabello's version as August 2017, three months before Half of All's as given by your iTunes source. I do use a MacBook to update. I referenced various articles from Universities and Newspapers regarding Generation Y / Millenials and the update was still removed.
I get the sense that Wikipedia prefers a status quo and that some constributors have more latitude than others to express their view and references accordingly.
Many times I have referenced reliable University websites and Newspapers, only to have the edit revoked.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Jnotary
editJason: 22 Sept, 2022: I have used Wikipedia for 15 years and donated money plenty of times, the thanks you get is a Deletion request.
Wikipedia is awesome, but there is too much focus on using Newspaper references and not enough focus on using Publish peer reviewed scientific articles.

Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. If you have issues with cited content please discuss via the article's TALK. Thanks Nemov (talk) 18:20, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- When did Wikipedia start using media over peer reviewed scientific information? FoxNews is not a reliable source. Misinformation is a major problem and Wikipedia is choosing to be part of the “alternative facts” world.
- seriously concerning that Wikipedia is pro Ron DeSantis and refuses to acknowledge actual facts from the US Government, Healthcare Providers and other non-profit organisations. Jason Notary 18:24, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what this particular rant has to do with you blanking out cited information from a biography. Please go to the TALK to discuss. Nemov (talk) 18:36, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- When False Information is on Wikipedia, and editors reinstate it…
- There is already Wiki simple English, we don’t need the main site dumbed down as well.
- The wiki page says not to use references in the body?
- One cannot easily verify paragraphs to factual information using this style. This is not how Wikipedia used to work.
- When I checked the references, I could not find anything based in reality to confirm what I deleted twice.
- Any explanation as to why this biography does not reference facts inline would be helpful. Jason Notary 18:42, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not the spokesperson of WIkipedia guidelines. Citations aren't required in the lead. That's the current guideline. As far as the claim in the DeSantis article it's sourced here[1]. Florida is the 7th oldest state in the US. So is it odd that age adjusted rate would be lower? Doing a little research I don't see much written about it. Here's one article that puts Florida at 31 after adjusting it.[2] I'm not exactly sure why you don't think the average age in Florida is something that should be noted.
