REAL DEL ORO [1] [2]

It is located in the mountainous part of the entity. Northwest of the capital of the State of Mexico, near to: Tlalpujahua, Michoacan, Temascalcingo, Atlacomulco and Jocotitlán. The town of El Oro has an area of 137.86 square kilometres. In the last Population and Housing, the town of El Oro had a population of 29466 inhabitants of which 14519 men and 14947 women. The main economic activities that exist in this place are: agriculture, livestock, industry and tourism. The people of El Oro is a Royal Mines, named for the discovery of a vein of gold that made Don Vincent Arciniega in 1789 at the foot of some hills, a league and a half of another Royal Mines very old named Tlalpujahua.
