Removed content in November 2024 Amsterdam attacks

edit

Hello. I would like to have some feedback about why you removed content of statements of notable people according to Wikipedia. You considered that statement of politicians have more value than statements of civil society members: academics and journalist. This need an explanation as you did not removed literal copy of the tweets of politicians. AyubuZimbale (talk) 17:40, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@AyubuZimbale: Hi! A large incident like this is bound to have hundreds of journalists, academia, and politicians talk about it. Listing them all would make the article too much too long to read, and listing just a few risks giving undue weight to certain viewpoints. For this reason, these kinds of lists are generally limited to those that actually have a direct impact on the world, such as statements by world leaders, government bodies, or international organizations. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 18:05, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I am fine if you filter them. I filtered opinions to only those marked as notable people by Wikipedia (not arbitrary persons). But please don't remove without a brief discussion, it generates a bad feeling. Note that the journalist I mentioned have a strong impact, in particular in the Muslim community in USA and some readers may find unfair remove its comments but keep U.S. special envoy on Antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt which is much less known and has less impact.
