Welcome!

Hello, Jody May-Chang, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! Additionally, it might improve your Wikipedia experience if you write about topics that you are interested in, but to which you are not personally connected. I see that your first edits were additions of an event you were involved in to the Sean Hannity article. It can be difficult to judge this kind of information objectively; I suggest you read our guide to possible conflicts of interest for ideas in how to avoid running afoul of other editors.

Editing Footnote

edit

My name is misspelled in note [11] on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_L._VanderSloot lists "Chang, Jody May" should be "May-Chang, Jody"

I do not see a way to edit that and I do not want to mess up any code.

See WP:COI

I trust this is self-explanatory. Collect (talk) 17:12, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not from where I'm sitting it's not. If you are going to make an accusation, then take the time to elaborate your position. Vague accusations and intimidation are inappropriate. Rhode Island Red (talk) 19:12, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

URGENT Collect - I am sorry it is NOT self explanatory.

Now I go the page and all references to me have been removed. That was not my intent. The information was correct it was just my first and last name was not cited correctly. I do not get on here very often and I find this system confusing. I would request that ALL the references to me, which were placed there by someone else are correct and they be re-added ASAP with my name indicated correctly Jody May-Chang or May-Chang, Jody. If there is something that I do not understand please educate me.

Jody May-Chang

Kindly see WP:COI/N where you are being discussed. Cheers. Collect (talk) 17:33, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Those of us editing the article are now aware of how to spell your name and we of course want to get it correct. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. GeorgeLouis (talk) 00:50, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks GeorgeLouis it happens all the time. Sorry for the confusion my earlier messages may have caused. Having legitimate references deleted based on false assumptions is frustrating.;)

Don't forget to sign your posts with four tildes. Also, one reason editors are normally anonymous here is because there really is no way of knowing if you are honestly User:Jody May-Chang or non-user Barack Obama or anybody else. There is a way to complain about stuff in any article about you, but you have to get in line if you want to complain about articles that mention you. Collect's deletion of references to your articles will stand only as long as WP:Consensus goes along, so don't blame him entirely. Others will step up to oppose him or to support him. It is a long process, but over the years it works out more often than not—but nothing in this encyclopedia is assured. GeorgeLouis (talk) 03:55, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
