Hi John, I see others beat me to the welcoming punch. If you want to add an image to an article that's already in wikipedia or in wikimedia commons ( http://commons.wikimedia.org), the syntax is [[File:name of photo from WP or Commons|thumb|caption you want for photo]] which for a photo like a really bad shot I just uploaded for an upcoming article, [[File:Yogo1ct.jpg|thumb|blurry photo of a pretty gem]] gets you the top image to your right. That markup sets the image at the image default size each user sets on their computer (I think 180px is the default on WP) If you want it bigger or smaller adding the size in pixels after the "thumb" parameter. For example [[File:Yogo1ct.jpg|thumb|50px|small blurry photo of a pretty gem]] gets you the second image. You can insert a photo anywhere in the text, and play with placement to see how if flows. Just remember that everyone's computer will show it a little different depending on screen size and such.

If you want to add a photo that's not already in wikipedia, you have to upload it to either wikipedia or wikimedia commons -- commons is fussier about licensing, but a better choice, because the image can then be used in any nation's wikipedia, not just the English one. Photos added usually must be released under a free license, WP generally can't take anything copyrighted other than with a free license (public domain or the CC-by-SA-3.0 or GDFL that they mention on the editing pages) If it's your own photo, that's easy. But getting photos from other people or web pages can be very tricky. There are lots of exceptions to the general free license rule, but only for the bold who want to spend a lot of time and are motivated to be perusing the WP guidelines. John, when you upload the photo, might want to use the cc-3.0 license, more up to date. Also, if you click on the "upload file" link and choose "it is entirely my own work," then accept the redirect to Commons, it will walk you step-by-step through the proper process. Please do not remove references from Montana mountain articles

JDS, please don't remove GNIS references from the Montana mountain articles you are editing. I might note that it never hurts to read WP:V and WP:RS. I also questioned some of Mike's original stats, but GNIS is about as reliable a source as exists, even if they are wrong! LOL! Hello, congratulations on your article, just a little tip: as currently the Pioneer Mountains (Montana) is a very short stub, and you seem to have materials for sources, you could perhaps expand it if you like! I have a better idea: why not delete the Pioneer Mountains (Montana) article altogether? Doing so would avoid confusion with the Pioneer Mountains (Idaho) article, and most sources I've consulted treat the East & West Pioneers as distinct ranges and wildlands. The two ranges are quite different in appearance and topography, and are separated by a paved road and river valley. I don't know much about geographical naming protocols, but it seems that whoever named these ranges should have given each a separate name. They are no more one range than the nearby Snowcrest and Gravelly Ranges, which are similar in being bunched together yet separated by road and river valley. Hi John. A better way to do what you want is to recommend the two articles be merged. Put a {{Mergeto}} tag at the top of the article you want to merge, and a {{Mergefrom}} tag on the article you want to keep. If no one complains after a few days, or if someone raises an issue but it gets resolved, then you can combine both into a single article, and make the merged article into a "redirect" by appropriate tagging (ask me how if you need help!) If for any reason an existing title doesn't work for the finished article, use the "move" command in the tab at the top of your screen to create a new name. By the way, now that you are getting the hang of creating articles, you don't have to use the wizard if you don't want to, just make a "sandbox" off your own user page by clicking on this link I'm making for you: User:JohnDavidStutts/Sandbox and play with any new articles until they are the way you want them, then move them to a real title in WP.
