- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:

Your GA nomination of Embodied cognition
editHi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Embodied cognition you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Darcyisverycute -- Darcyisverycute (talk) 09:40, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Darcyisverycute thanks for your time and willingness to do the review for GA. I have noticed you have made some comments and suggestions and I will start working on them soon. In case I have questions or want to reply to any of your comments, how should I do it? should I write directly in the article's talk page (below the respective comment) or should I contact you through a message? Best, John J. Madrid (talk) 22:41, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking! I'd like if you left feedback on the talk page of the GA nomination (here). You can leave short comments inside my review like {{Completed}} -> Completed or {{Done}} -> Done and {{Inprogress}} -> In progress with your signature so I can see what time roughly it happened. (see Wikipedia:List_of_discussion_templates) For larger comments/questions I think it would be better to put them in a new section on the talk page there, and I'll respond as they get added. Your GA nomination of Embodied cognition
editThe article Embodied cognition you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Embodied cognition for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Darcyisverycute -- Darcyisverycute (talk) 06:01, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for working with me to bring the article to GA status! Sufficient content was obviously already there from the collaboration project, and I appreciate your readiness to take in the feedback I had. Darcyisverycute (talk) 06:16, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Darcyisverycute Happy to read such great news! Thanks a lot to you for all your willingness to review the article, your valuable feedback, and your support. May I ask you two things:
- Could you update the and the parameters in the talk page? (Just to avoid confussion)
- Do you know what would be a good option to protect the article and how to do it? According to WikiProtectionPolicy John J. Madrid (talk) 13:59, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
- @John J. Madrid Updated the parameters. About page protection, they are used only when necessary to prevent excessive vandalism/edit warring, and the page has had very little vandalism and no edit warring, so I don't think it needs to be protected. There is a link to apply in the wikipedia protection policy you linked.
- To quote the policy:
Pages are protected when a specific damaging event has been identified that can not be prevented through other means such as a block. Otherwise, Wikipedia is built on the principle that anyone can edit it, and it therefore aims to have as many of its pages as possible open for public editing so that anyone can add material and correct errors.
- See WP:RFP for the process of applying for page protection. Darcyisverycute (talk) 09:19, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Great, Thank you John J. Madrid (talk) 14:11, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
