Versailles Sports

The reason I reverted your edit is because a lot of the information there is not displayed on the school page. Under the school pages current setup, it isn't feasible to include it there without it looking good. Wow. You amaze me. it is great. just a couple small things. since the lede is supposed to be a summary of the article, it commonly is not referenced at all--the references on the article itself should suffice for a properly written lede. The only problem is it isn't really a good lede. You came up through journalism, so i know you know how to write a lede. pretty much it is the same as a news story; you should be able to get the short version of the entire article by reading the lede. there is an issue with the pic in the infobox which I will fix for you. you can take a look at how I did it for future reference. and I would lose the family by his side at his death comment. that really isn't all that encyclopedic. other than that great work! give me a bump when you finish your rewrite on the lede. Gee, thank you! I appreciate your compliments. And, I'm glad things are going so well for you - impressive, and happy birthday! :-) I have followed your suggestions. Really, I wasn't sure about whether or not to just make one simple statement for the lede, or to write a summary paragraph as sort of an introduction. I looked at a few different examples, and most of them appear to have a short summary introduction, but none of them were consistent. So, I just went with what I knew - it was editable. Lol. I edited out the "family by his side" statement and reference. And, thank you for fixing my photo of him in the info box - I didn't know how to correct that! Thank you, John. I hope it doesn't go to your head, but you are my favorite editor on Wikipedia! :-) I really appreciate all of your assistance and support; it is very refreshing! This was the other major project that I had in mind; the Gernatt article was a test article for me. I feel quite confident in my skills now; I have learned much, particularly from you. I'm very excited and pleased about the creation of another article - yeh! I think the disambiguation to 'Bill' will be fine. People who knew him called him Bill. I just wonder about one thing - I noticed that the article also appears in my sandbox, and I wondered how it can get cleared out of there so I can continue to use an empty sandbox. Lol. I will also have a Merry Christmas, and am glad you will, too. Talkpage stalker swoops in to say... Daniella, once the article you were working on in your sandbox has been copied to mainspace, you can just wipe your sandbox down. (The old version before you wiped it clean will still be in the edit-history of your sandbox should you ever need it.) You can also made a new subpage, called sandbox2, sandbox3, and so on — although I recommend using more descriptive names, like Working Draft Of Article About Larry The Lemur. ...actually, there is some rule about naming, to make sure that people don't put non-Notable 'articles' in their userspace permanently, maybe John or Anne can tell you what it is. Hello John, you signed up for this sub-project (namely User_talk:Mark_Miller#WP:WER_op-ed) over at the WP:RETENTION talkpage. The other folks I've met before, so I had some idea about what that they might be interested in publishing as op-eds, in the initial run. I'm guessing that we'll try to expand the authorship, once the ball is rolling, of course. Flags in infoboxes

Hi John, I noticed some of your recent talk page entries regarding the use of flags in infoboxes. You are indeed correct. While flags are not appropriate in most infoboxes, they are acceptable in settlement infoboxes: "Human geographic articles – for example settlements and administrative subdivisions – may have flags of the country and first-level administrative subdivision in infoboxes; however, physical geographic articles – for example, mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, and swamps – should not (WP:INFOBOXFLAG).
