Fort Smith Sports

I don't understand why my edit was removed as compared to any of the other local clubs, schools, and businesses listed under Fort Smith. Should it be added under a different section with 'culture' or 'economy'? Ome5150 (talk) 06:05, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

How much clearer can I and the other editor be? it shouldn't be added at all. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your business. John from Idegon (talk) 06:07, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
I understand not advertising, I had researched the Fort Smith section and compared the martial arts school to be equal to the dance school that is listed under Dance and Theatre. Self-defense I assumed is just as important as the local dance or theatre schools. Plus the martial arts school is a part of a competition team which competes all over the US. I live in the Fort Smith area and most of the entrees on the page could be considered to be an advertisement. Ome5150 (talk) 06:29, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
I agree. It is a pretty crappy article. Adding more crap will not make it better. Many editors patrol changes and that is how I noticed your revision. I frankly do not have the time now to clean up the article, but you are welcome to if you wish. John from Idegon (talk) 06:33, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your response and time, the Frosty page just looked suspect to me, I'm a new user. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ome5150 (talkcontribs) 06:38, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Fair enough (re IMDB). How about this ABC News cite: http://abc7chicago.com/archive/7663002/ DaBunny42 (talk) 15:54, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

ETA: Also, it doesn't seem immediately clear from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_IMDb that IMDB is not an acceptable source. Some parts (e.g. "Goofs" sections, and message boards) are user-edited. And some are authoritative. It looks like the biographical material I referenced is authoritative, but I don't understand how IMDB works well enough to judge that for sure. Ordinarily I'd say it's strong enough to be left up, but I understand that I'm jumping in on a sensitive topic, where there have been a lot of bad cites previously. Hopefully my ABC News cite resolves the issue? Thanks for your help.DaBunny42 (talk) 16:07, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
