Hope your first experience of Wikipedia hasn't put you off, and that you'll continue to add and edit articles - you'll soon get used to how people behave around here! -- Euchiasmus 20:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

- i have used your page for a bit of referance already and find it very helpfull. John joskins 20:22, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- A lot of talk pages use indentation like this to mark where a reply starts. You just start each paragraph with a colon for one tab, two colons for two tabs, etc. You'll see it done quite a lot when you look at talk pages. If you click Edit to look at the source for this page, you'll see what I've done. -- Euchiasmus 21:30, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- thanks again i am sure i will get it in the end.John joskins 21:35, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Watendlath
editi have worked on this page any advise would be gratfull John joskins 09:08, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your work on it; you've already had a formal welcome — and, in answer to the above, and to the similar question you put on my talk page – there's really nothing better than reading the advise quoted, then getting stuck in and seeing how your efforts get altered/amended (or even deleted). There are a lot of tips and tricks around (probably too many) and some editors seem to enjoy over-complicating things. My "top tip" after being here for nearly 3 years is to use the 'Show preview' button before hitting 'Save page', not that I always do it of course! Good luck Saga City 14:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Keswick - riot gear
editI note that you've re-inserted the duplication of the information about the use of police riot gear which I deleted from the 'Notable People' section of the Keswick article. Exactly the same paragraph appears under 'Recent History' and since it seems more at home there than under notable people, I removed the latter entry. It's generally considered undesirable for the same information to be included multiple times in an article. Have you a particular reason for wanting it to be included twice? External links
editHello, I reverted your edit to Antique shop as the links you added do not comply with Links normally to be avoided point 13 which states that we shouldn't link to specific subjects in articles about general subjects. Wikipedia isn't a directory and the article about antique shops doesn't serve as a hub for a link to every known antique shop. If the pages you linked to contain encyclopedic material, and they are considered reliable sources, please consider writing that material into the article and citing the links as references.
