- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

editHello, I'm Mako001. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, John Warrington, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 15:10, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi I am still editing and adding the news sources. Now the page has disappeared altogether. Johnthe red77 (talk) 15:14, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to John Warrington. The sun is not a reliable source, per WP:THESUN. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 15:23, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- So I've interviewed him for this entry and he was happy for this to go in. So I've actually spoken to the subject about this. However, I have deleted it anway Johnthe red77 (talk) 15:28, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- If you would like his confirmation his email is [redacted, do not add this in] Johnthe red77 (talk) 15:30, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at John Warrington. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Can you just stop adding this stuff in without a source? If you interviewed him, that would suggest that he is paying you to write this, or you have a conflict of interest? If so, you need to disclose it in accordance with the WMF Terms of Use. I would strongly recommend going through the WP:Articles for creation process, rather than trying to make the article on top of an existing redirect. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 15:34, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- As I have said. I have taken the reference out. He is not paying me and there is no conflict of interest. I am simply a UK based entertainment journalist with a wide network and was surprised he did not have a wikipedia entry. Johnthe red77 (talk) 15:37, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- I would really recommend that you learn a bit more about how Wikipedia works before you try to make this article. You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:Your first article, and other help pages. I'll leave a list of some other useful links too. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 15:40, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
