Replies to comments on a talk page
editIf somebody responds to something you put on a article's talk page, you should put your reply after the other reply, preferably indented to make the flow clearer, rather than replying to the user on the user's talk page. That way, the reply is seen by all, not just the person to whom you're replying; that puts it in context.

Oops, my bad, this is public. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it and really, keep doing what you are doing. Also, thanks for creating me a talk page ;)
Uploading images and testing them
editOK, for that screenshot, the first thing you'll need to do is upload the file to Wikipedia; see Wikipedia:Uploading images for information on that. See the information page for the Tiger screenshot for some of the copyright information you'll need; Template:Non-free software screenshot is the template used there, and its text describes the copyright issues for screenshots of non-free OSes.
Once you've uploaded it, you'll want to see whether it looks small enough when presented as a thumbnail. There should be a (probably-)red "Sandbox" link at the top of Wikipedia pages, which will let you create a personal "sandbox" page where you can experiment. Once you've uploaded the image, you should be able to include it on your sandbox page with a syntax like
[[File:YourImage'sFileName.png|thumb|right|Screenshot of Yosemite]]
where "YourImage'sFileName.png" is the file name you used when uploading the image. That'll show it as a "thumbnail", which should make it smaller. See Wikipedia:Picture tutorial for information on the way images are embedded.
The images might be too large to be good thumbnails; the small Mavericks screenshot is 421 x 236 pixels and the small Tiger screenshot is 600 × 450 pixels. Don't assume, though; test whether they work as thumbnails in your sandbox.
Once you have an image that works, add a followup comment on the talk page giving the name you used when uploading the image, and we can add it. Guy Harris (talk) 23:00, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Thank you so much! One problem though, I am not autoconfirmed. I tried submitting an image upload request, but I don't know which options to select. I am definitely not going to make 10 frivolous, tiniest, pointless edits just to get autoconfirmed, though I can wait 4 days. Any ideas what I could do? Also, I blanked out the "Log out [USER]..." using Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 and exported using a Photoshop PNG plugin, SuperPNG. Thanks. JohnyDog107 (talk) 11:08, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
