Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Drillinginfo

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Drillinginfo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Alex ShihTalk 05:13, 6 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I did read Wikipedia’s policies on submissions in advance and did not feel my article would have come across as advertising. I truly am trying to post an objective article that explains who Drillinginfo is and what they do - but not to advertise them. There seems to be precedence for other companies in their industry such as BP, DCP Midstream, Exxon Mobil, etc. These also are informational company pages and I attempted to replicate their style so that I WOULDN’T be blocked for advertising. Apparently my attempt was a failure and I welcome any help at creating a successfully Wiki article for Drillinginfo as I believe they deserve one.

Decline reason:

I was interested to read this page. What does this say to you? To me, it says that you have an undisclosed interest in this company contrary to WP:PAID and WP:COI. To be unblocked you need to specify the reliably sourced edits that you plan to make but be cautioned that you will not be unblocked to write about this company. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I did read about COI disclaimers and I do work with Drillinginfo. But I read the COI to be focused on official Wikipedia editors, not those making entries. But who, other than someone who works for a company, would post about this company? I don't mind disclosing I work with them, but where should that be done? I was looking for that step, but did not see it

Decline reason:

The link provided above by Just Chilling ahs all the info -- WP:PAID. However, you don't seem to understand the principle behind COI -- "But who, other than someone who works for a company", and it doesn't appear that you have any other interests on the encyclopaedia, so I'm declining this. —SpacemanSpiff 05:43, 17 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
