Thank you
editIt's rare to get words of encouragement; unfortunately words of criticism come much more easily. Once again, thank you. -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 23:14, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Hello!
editI was just writing you a message when I got one from you! I just wanted to say thank you for your work on relatively obscure historical women, especially Anne Lynch Botta and Elizabeth Ellet. I'm mostly interested in their relationship with Edgar Poe so I may be adding to them further. But, really, thanks so much for dedicating the time to these figures!!! As for Poe's main article, I've been sort of intimidated by it and have avoided it for months. Mostly what I've been doing is creating forked articles like Edgar Allan Poe's literary influence and adding sources and citations to info that's already there. So, really, I've been taking away or supporting info that's on there, rather than expanding. Some day it will be featured! Let me know if there's any specific help you want on Botta, Ellet, or Osgood, by the way. --Midnightdreary 15:29, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- I realize I didn't really answer your question: the answer is yes! Osgood should certainly play a strong role in Poe's article... I'm just not there yet myself. Feel free to work it in yourself if you are so inclined. :) --Midnightdreary 15:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- Poor Anne Stephens could certainly use some work! I might make a few picks at it as I find sources. --Midnightdreary 21:37, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, there is a listing for "A Valentine" on the full list of poems by Poe. Jump to it here if you're interested in taking a look. --Midnightdreary 01:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- In case you haven't seen this, I found this essay online: Friends and Enemies: Women in the Life of Edgar Allan Poe by Richard Benton. I've used it before but never knew it was online. Anyway, Osgood, Lynch-Botta, and Ellet are all mentioned in there, in case you think you can use any of it. --Midnightdreary 02:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

editSojourner Truth
editHi. In order to highlight the quotes from Sojourner Truth, I'll switch from Blockquote to Cquote, which adds blue quotation marks to the format. In general, editing style directs that you don't use quotation marks when a quotation is indented.
I agree that the article has a lot of room for improvement. I'd like to find a good biography and learn more about her life.
PS - See Ain't I a Woman? for a copy of the speech as originally published and in modern English. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 20:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

editI considered not spamming talk pages but not saying "thanks" just isn't me. The support was remarkable and appreciated - you do know I appreciate. I only hope that I am able to help a little on here. Please let me know if I can help you or equally if you find any of my actions questionable. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:49, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Condolences
editWhat a wonderful relationship your family must have, to put so much effort into raising an 'adopted' creature with such love, and to pay tribute to her here with such fondness. I'm sorry your time with her was too short, and I hope you have thousands of good memories to give you comfort. Maralia 18:09, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you, I learned so much from her and I am truly grateful for every moment. - Epousesquecido 19:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

editThanks. I enjoy researching as well. I especially enjoy creating useful links. I do not spend much time editing, etc. but I love the concept of Wikipedia and will continue to be as useful as possible. Daytrivia (talk) 02:41, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Morning! I still have you watchlisted, so I saw you add Miss Sara Jane. I've given her a copyedit and added an infobox. Unfortunately, I'm largely ignorant about her body of work, so I would appreciate if you'd look over the infobox—especially the 'genres' and 'subjects' sections—and make sure I didn't totally mispresent her. Thanks! Maralia (talk) 16:44, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, especially for your copyedits, I was hoping someone would start cleaning up after me! :) The infobox looks fine too. I started reading about her and realized how important she was to our past, I felt compelled to add to her bio. Thanks for your interest. - Epousesquecido (talk) 17:52, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Looking good so far, from a standing start! Can you get the body over 1500 chars and the total well over 2000? That's really just one or two good paragraphs of content more. Then it's DYKable :) It really is a nice little stub so far. I suggest some words on what sort of content the magazine had (did it have features, columns, activities for kids? Stories? Puzzles? Moral instruction?) would be good. Any other famous authors? Any info on circulation or what it sold for per copy or yearly? What was the bit about the subscriptions and when they started? That might be worth writing about too... Why did it get merged? Just some food for thought. ++Lar: t/c 18:50, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the encouragement, I'll need it. (it's not that interesting, I was just trying to get rid of the red link :) - Epousesquecido (talk) 22:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. Good luck! I left you a message at Commons, I think you had a typo in the newer masthead name... ++Lar: t/c 22:13, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Talk page blanking
editI saw you warn an IP here ... It may be somewhat controversial, but accepted policy on en:wp is that it is OK to blank one's own talk page if one is a user. Doing so implies that one has read whatever warnings or admonitions were there (ignorance is not a defense then). But for an IP, there may be multiple users there so I think you did the right thing :) ++Lar: t/c 20:09, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

RFA thanks
editThanks for your support in my RFA, that didn't quite make it and ended at 120/47/13. There was a ton of great advice there, that I'm going to go on. Maybe someday. If not, there are articles to write! Thanks for your support. Lawrence § t/e 17:55, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

editThanks for your support at my recent Request for adminship. My husband had a good chuckle at your reason for supporting me – I guess it’s not quite a universal opinion. :-) I hope you find I live up to your expectations. Best, Risker (talk) 15:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Congratulations!
editI just had the pleasure of reading about Ann Eliza Bleecker. Well done! Congratulations on bringing it to good article status. Seems to me there may be some others on your list that aren't all that far from achieving the same level - think about it. Risker (talk) 05:03, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed there are, I think. (I admit bias :) )... and maybe Ann can be an FA with a bit more spit and polish? ++Lar: t/c 05:11, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

editThe reason there was no topic ban suggested is because that user's misconduct was not confined to one article or topic; it's been all over the place. Please don't feel it is not appropriate for you to comment, as you are welcome to respond. Regards - Ncmvocalist (talk) 09:20, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up for me. I still feel it is not appropriate for me to comment on the C68-FM-SV arbitration case, as I personally have not had any interaction with anyone involved except Cla68, who has always been extremely kind and helpful to me. Plus, I have been leery of drawing the attention of some of the others involved in the case, as I have seen the way they appear to treat those that do not share their exact opinions. - Epousesquecido (talk) 20:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- (Just saw your reply) Yeah, I can understand that - tensions fly high after a while. It's sometimes beneficial avoid getting involved - it means that any frustration you do have does not come out, and you have no regrets getting involved in the first place. In any case, it's all an experience and we walk away learning something we didn't know. I expect to revise my proposals once more in the next few days. If you have any more ideas or questions, feel free to let me know. Regards - Ncmvocalist (talk) 06:47, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
