edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page San Antonio Missions has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/samissions (matching the regex rule \bfacebook\.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:26, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Possible conflict of interest

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! I wanted to bring your attention to our policy on conflict of interest. If you are a representative or an employee of the Missions (or if you have any such tie or affiliation to the club), then it is greatly discouraged that you edit San Antonio Missions or any of its related articles.

If you have any questions about this, or any baseball- or policy-related topic on Wikipedia, then please send me a note on my talk page.

I'll do everything I can to help out.
One immediate problem that needs to be addressed is the user name "Samissions". Unfortunately, group accounts are not permitted. If there is one person who will be editing, then I suggest placing a request at Wikipedia:Changing username to something more appropriate.
If your focus will be primarily editing articles devotes Missions and other Texas League teams, players, etc... then I would suggest reviewing Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
In general, editors and administrators (like myself) are wary of accounts that appear to have been opened for promotional purposes, a common problem here. However, if you follow the suggestions on that last link, adhere to the site's policies and guidelines and are open to discussion about your edits, then you'll be a welcome addition to the community.

Unfortunately, group account in explicitly prohibited (see WP:USERNAME for details/explanation). I would suggest having anybody who intends to assist register individual accounts. They should clearly state on their user pages that they are employees of and/or volunteers for the Missions on their user pages. They should also be aware that any edits they make to San Antonio Missions and its related pages will be under additional scrutiny, so it is necessary they a) make sure none of the edits are controversial or promotional in nature and b) that factual additions to articles include reliable sources. caknuck ° needs to be running more often 22:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

need to change e-mail and password

edit

{{help me}} I just switched over to a personal account, eliminating a group account to comply with the rules of Wikipedia. However, this personal account is attached to a generic group e-mail address, and I want to port everything over to my personal e-mail address and change the password to my account to make the transition complete.

I suppose I was afraid to just delete the account and re-create a personal account because I was afraid of losing the material I had updated under the group account name.

You can do it in Special:Preferences. Samwb123Please read 22:21, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) slightly more detailed reply: You can change the email address by clicking "My preferences" at the top of the page. Under "User profile" there is a box "Email options". On the same page, the "Basic information" box at the top includes a link to "Change password." JohnCD (talk) 22:22, 19 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

SWEET! Thank you, all. I found it and have it all changed.
