Welcome to Wikipedia, JoshuaLaw! Thank you for your contributions. I am Kerry Raymond and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{help me}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Kerry (talk) 02:13, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the barnstar you sent me! If you ever need any help with contributing to Wikipedia, please feel free to ask me. I know that Wikipedia is a steep learning curve at times. Kerry (talk) 02:15, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
One immediate tip I would give you is to enable the Visual Editor, this is a new way to edit Wikipedia articles in a WYSIWYG style somewhat similar to using Microsoft Word or other word processors. When you are logged in, go to Preferences (top right of screen on any page), then into the "Editing" tab, then in the section labelled Editor, do two things. First, make sure the box with " Temporarily disable the visual editor while it is in beta" is NOT ticked. If it is ticked, change it to NOT ticked and then save (lower lefton screen). Second, on the dropdown choice "Editing mode", change it to "show me both editors" (ignore the other settings, even though they might sound tempting). Again SAVE lower left of screen. Now when you look at any Wikipedia article (while logged in), you will see two tabs "Edit" (which is the Visual Editor) and "Edit source" which is the wikitext editor (or source editor, or markup editor). Although I am quite fluent in the source editor, I prefer to do most of my content edits in the Visual Editor, because it's so much easier. Kerry (talk) 02:43, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I hope you don't mind but I added the logo on your user page that you seemed to be wanting. Kerry (talk) 02:43, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Clarification on revert

edit

Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I earlier made these edits under a different IP address to Scott Maxwell (engineer) to clean up the grammar and a few typos:

I appreciate that you are watching out against potential vandalism, but I can assure you that my edit was not intended or framed as such. Would you mind clarifying on why you thought the previous edition was a better version? Thanks and sorry again for the trouble. 47.147.221.147 (talk) 16:34, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Review of action 806961883

edit

Hi my name is Josh I'm replying to a message you left on my talk page, I have reviewed my action (806961883) and deemed your version - not vandalism, it seems as though in checking for vandalism it was reverted to the previous version. Thank you for informing me and rest assured that that I have fixed this error and that the current version is the one you wrote. Apologies for this error. Please do not allow this to discourage you from your good work. (JoshuaLaw (talk) 23:23, 26 October 2017 (UTC))Reply

Hi Josh - I appreciate your consideration and courtesy on the matter. I will personally strive to be more clear in my own edits to avoid any future confusion, and I know your revert was done in good faith. You are doing important work in ensuring the integrity of recently-edited articles on Wikipedia - please keep up the good work as well! 134.139.33.37 (talk) 05:11, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Consider using Twinkle

edit

Hi, I've had to remove some of the warning messages/welcomes you had left people as they were either misplaced, or direct copies of pages. Please consider using Twinkle to welcome and warn users -- There'sNoTime (to explain) 09:05, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
