Thanks for pointing this out. It's actually like unraveling a puzzle thread. I'm Watching a bunch of pages that seem to be core to the user's interest, so when an edit pops up there, I check that page, then check the user's contributions to see what else s/he edited, then on each of *those* pages I check their history to see whether the user edited those pages earlier under a different IP, then I check *those* users' contributions, then... Anyway, it's not impossible, it's just not as easy as having one username. I and a couple of other people have posted requests to register at more than one anonymous IP while the person was in process editing and have never gotten a flicker of response.
I haven't actually been actively working on them lately, but my list of IP #s directs me to some pages to start the hunt anew... Elf | Talk 18:58, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
