Hi David, thanks for the "hello" :-) Wikipedia has been a great resource for me in uncovering the secrets to the skin ailments I've had most of my life which doctors & dentists never seem to know what to do with (phew!). Thanks for all the pointers. Hope my edits have been helpful. Let me know if you see anything out-of-line. Jrennie 15:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
References
editFor the cite.php system of adding footnotes, see WP:FOOTNOTES. What one places inside the <ref> ... </ref> tags is up to the editor, but to provide consistancy, try using one of the citation templates - see Wikipedia:Citation templates. I've tried to put together a shorter overall description in my sandbox - see User:Davidruben/Sandbox. Feel free to ask any questions. Yours David Ruben Talk 16:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Conceit
editConceit means a "novel or fanciful idea." It is not a misspelling of "concept." Robert K S 19:16, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

SLS
editI recently found out about SLS causing mouth ulcers about a year ago. I've been dealing with it for my entire life, and am kind of upset I didn't hear about this until recently. It still seems like it's hidden knowledge for some reason. I've been trying to edit some of the ulceration pages to make it more prominant, since it appears to have buried in the pages since you've last edited them.
Cheers.

- Congrats! I'm also surprised that such a basic fact is not more widely known. I've personally found that 750mg/day n-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) eliminates the sores for me (though it takes effect about 4-6 weeks after starting the supplement). Every dentist or doctor I mention this to is at least surprised and some say that can't possibly be true. I suspect that it affects a sufficiently small portion of the population (<5%?) that studies have a hard time "seeing" the effect. I did once find a Scandinavian study with clear evidence, maybe because the genes for SLS-sensitivity are more prevalent in that part of the world... Thanks for helping to raise awareness!
