Your submission at Articles for creation: Iranga Ranasinghe (April 8)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Spiderone were:
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Speedy deletion of Draft:Iranga Ranasinghe

[edit]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Iranga Ranasinghe has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

I understand I was blocked for using multiple accounts, which I now realize was against Wikipedia’s rules. I was unaware of the policies at the time but have since reviewed Wikipedia's guidelines on sockpuppetry and editing. I sincerely apologize for my mistake and ask for a second chance to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. I am committed to editing responsibly and following all rules. Thank you for your consideration.

Accept reason:

How would you want to contribute if you were to be unblocked? Girth Summit (blether) 16:03, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for considering my unblock request. I fully understand the reason for my block and acknowledge that using multiple accounts was against Wikipedia’s guidelines. I have learned the importance of adhering to Wikipedia’s policies and will ensure that my contributions align with those rules moving forward.
If unblocked, I would focus on contributing by expanding articles related to science, technology, and education. I am particularly interested in improving the coverage of emerging technologies, recent scientific discoveries, and educational advancements. I aim to add reliable sources, enhance article quality, and ensure neutrality in my edits. My goal is to help Wikipedia remain a trusted resource in these fields.
I am committed to following Wikipedia’s core guidelines, including neutrality, verifiability, and no original research. I will take the time to read and understand the guidelines and seek help from the community if I am ever unsure about an edit.
I have learned from my previous actions and understand that creating multiple accounts is prohibited. I will always use my account responsibly, work collaboratively with other editors, and contribute positively to the community. Thank you again for considering my request. It looks an awful lot like you got an AI chatbot to write that response for you. Are you able to reply in your own words? And would you be happy to commit to refrain from writing about Iranga Ranasinghe? Girth Summit (blether) 16:12, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hello there, Thank you for your time and consideration. I fully understand that my previous actions were not upto the standard of Wikipedia guidelines and am extremely sorry for everything. Moving forward, I would like to confirm that my contributions to WIkipedia would 100% align with the rules and guidelines. The account block was posed 2 years back and I would now like to focus on contributing accurate information to various articles related to the fields of science, technology and education as I understand this would not only improve my skills and knowledge but also help me contribute to the readers who wish to learn more about emerging technologies and help Wikipedia be a trusted source int these areas.
I will make sure to follow Wikipedia's core guidelines and will make sure to understand the guidelines clearly. I have learnt from my previous actions and I understand creating multiple accounts was wrong. I would also like to assure you that I am happy to commit to refrain from writing about Iranga Ranasinghe or any other topic that violates Wikipedia's policies. Thank you once again! Jrworks123 (talk) 16:23, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Again, this seems like an answer produced by a chatbot. Can you write in the English language without assistance? Girth Summit (blether) 16:41, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, I did not get any assistance or use an AI chatbot to write the above paragraph. Unfortunately seems like you are mistaken. I believe it is best if you could go through the above provided paragraph and kindly understand my humble request to kindly unblock the account ban. Thank you for understanding! Jrworks123 (talk) 16:46, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well, whether it's a Chatbot, a machine translation, or just the way you write, I can tell you now that it's not generally the way people write, in articles or on talk pages. Nevertheless, I'm willing to give you another chance, and we'll see how you do. You will be restricted to operating one account, and you will be topic banned from the subject of Iranga Ranasinghe. I'd also very strongly advise you not to write about anyone you know, and now to write in a promotional tone about any subject. Please indicate below that you accept these conditions. Girth Summit (blether) 17:04, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Alright, thank you. I'm extremely sorry that I wanted to formally address you and did not want to include an informal tone in the conversation (which might have lead to the confusion that I am using a Chatbot or any other technology as mentioned in your response) Thank you for considering to unblock my account. I do accept all the conditions you mentioned above. Also wish to respectfully add that Wikipedia must respect diversity specially since both native and non-native English speakers use this platform. Thanks, Jrworks123 (talk) 17:38, 28 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Could you please let me know when can I get my account back? Seems like the account block is still in action. I believe I already accepted all of the conditions you mentioned. Jrworks123 (talk) 06:28, 29 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia does respect diversity, but we also expect people to be able to write in the English language - this is a writing project in that language, after all. Informal tone is fine on talk pages; the expected tone for articles is discussed at MOS:TONE (that whole page is worth reading). I've logged your editing restrictions at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions/Voluntary. They are in the voluntary section, but that does not mean that abiding by them is voluntary - it just means that you entered into them voluntarily as a condition of unblock. I will now unblock this account - happy editing. Girth Summit (blether) 10:15, 29 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your detailed response. I believe I am capable of "writing in the English Language" as I have been publishing articles, and theses for quite a while now without any issues regarding my tone/language. However, I acknowledge that I am not very familiar with Wikipedia as of now and therefore I will make sure to follow your instructions and contribute to the platform appropriately. Thank you for your support! Much appreciated! Jrworks123 (talk) 13:36, 29 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
