Hello Juan. I have read a number of your postings on Talk:Airfoil and it is clear that you object to the fact that the former article Foil (fluid mechanics) now re-directs to Airfoil. The original article Foil (fluid mechanics) is still available for anyone who wants to make use of its information. It can be accessed as follows:

  1. Search for Foil (fluid mechanics). Wikipedia will open up Airfoil.
  2. Immediately below the heading Airfoil you will see the words Foil (fluid mechanics) in small blue letters. Click on those small blue letters. Wikipedia will open up Foil (fluid mechanics) and you will see the re-direct to Airfoil
  3. Select the View history at the top right of the page. Wikipedia will open up the chronology of the article Foil (fluid mechanics).
  4. Select a date earlier than the last edit (which re-directed to Airfoil.) Wikipedia will open up the latest substantial version of the article. If you wish you can then copy it, paste it to your personal sandbox or to a Microsoft Word document, and work on it.

Part of the problem with the former article Foil (fluid mechanics) is that it contained no references or in-line citations. It was therefore non-compliant with the Wikipedia policy of WP:VERIFIABILITY. Also, most of what it contained was also contained in other articles.

If someone is willing to develop the former article, add references and in-line citations, add new information appropriate to the general topic of foils, there is no reason why the article can't be resurrected. Let me know if I can help you with any of the above. Happy editing. Dolphin (t) 04:16, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is the parent subject, which is obvious from the list of articles relating to this one. Therefore I've resurrected it, and will add citations as I can -- I noted, in looking at some of the listed articles, that they HAD BEEN flagged as "Needs citations" for a couple of years 2 years ago, and they were not nearly as important as the parent subject of Foils (fluid mechanics), yet you and Crowsnest deleted/merged this parent subject 2 YEARS ago. This is simply a very bad error, and I built the list of supporting articles as evidence. I'll cite inline as I get time, but I believe the related articles are overwhelming evidence you should not merge or delete this parent subject again, and I trust you won't, given he nexus this page constitutes now and should have been before. You can help. This page is not and should not and probably couldnt be the encyclopedia of all things foil, but it can and should be a jumping-off point for people interested in natural and manmade foils. 98.200.236.234 (talk) 16:07, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
