Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Islay whisky do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: 'scotlandontv\.tv' (link(s): http://www.scotlandontv.tv/scotland_on_tv/video.html?vxSiteId=60fdd544-9c52-4e17-be7e-57a2a2d76992&vxChannel=Whisky%20About&vxClipId=1380_SMG1533&vxBitrate=300) .
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 12:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Islay whisky. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

Review policies and guidelines

edit

Please review our policies and guidelines. You are pushing an external link, we are not an advertising service, the site does not comply with our policies and guidelines, please consider this as a last warning, start discussing on talkpages first. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:55, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked for a period of 31 hours from editing Wikipedia for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia.

You insist in adding your links in a disruptive way, either using this account or using an IP. Please take this time to read the policies and guidelines mentioned in the welcome message I left you, above. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:04, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This blocked user's request to have autoblock on their IP address lifted has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request.

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Judit25". The reason given for Judit25's block is: "Spamming links to external sites: - disruptive editing, sockpuppeting".

Decline reason: Directly blocked — Woody (talk) 14:13, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I'm not spamming links or doing any disrupting editing, I have a passion for Scotland and I'm just trying to add some information to your pages in form of references that can be found in videos

Decline reason:

You continued to add links to these videos after being warned not to. During the next 31 hours, I suggest that you read our policies on WP:SPAM. — Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:21, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Your edits coincide strongly with those of IP User:212.137.62.186, which is also named in the first unblock request on this page. That IP was only adding links, no discussion whatsoever, as were the edits by your account.
The Whois on that IP (212.137.62.186) gives as a description "Scottish Media Group" (netname: CW-SMG-PLC-NET). If you now browse to the site, you see that that is a site of the Scottish Media Group. Though having a conflict of edit does not forbid you adding the links, it is strongly discouraged: see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Please review your intentions for adding links to this site. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:30, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I know you insist in adding links to your site, Judith. But could you also reference other data that you add? Thanks! --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:13, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dirk, I'm sorry for causing some trouble, I'm trying to learn how to edit wikipedia and trying my hardest to do it the right way. I really don't want to just add a link and try to also add some useful info. But I'm learning how to...Thanks for your advice and patience....are the references ok?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Judith25 (talkcontribs)

This looks already better. There is a blogspot reference there, is that a reliable source, and is it an original source (not scraped from somewhere else?). Blogspot is very often (though not always) a concern. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:28, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
By the way, the rest of the document was not referenced either, since it seems you know the subject, maybe you can have a look at that as well. Thanks! --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:30, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Dirk, in terms of the blogspot reference, it is an original source. Is a blog written by a member of the Scottish parliament. Otherwise I've found this news article that cites the same words....[1], is that better? I'll see what I can do about the rest of the article...Thanks a lot for your help!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Judith25 (talkcontribs)

Blogspot can be a fine reference, it just needs to be checked a bit better other sites (to see if it complies with the policies and guidelines). See you around, happy editing! --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:09, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
