I have restored the article as per your request. You still need to address any issues with it or any editor/admin will tag or remove it. For starters, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on it and explain your reasoning in the article's Talk page. -- Alexf42 16:25, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

You could read the Five Pillars, Your first article, Manual of Style and Criteria for speedy deletion. Also look around and see similar articles and how they are written. -- Alexf42 22:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you could link me to the statement you mention on my talk page, that'd be very helpful. I will of course restore any article that is not a copyright infringement. Rudget (Help?) 10:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Principles of Public Information

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Principles of Public Information, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.cni.org/docs/infopols/NCLIS.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Principles of Public Information

edit

A tag has been placed on Principles of Public Information requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I have restored the article to your userspace here for you to work on. Once you have it ready, and think it will pass notability muster as per WP:BIO, you can copy the edited text to create a new article in mainspace as before. Once done, if you want this userspace page removed all you have to do is post a {{db-userreq}} tag on it and and admin will promptly delete it. Good luck. -- Alexf42 13:53, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the articles Judith C. Russell‎ and Superintendent of Documents, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you.

Proposed deletion of Charles E. Abramson

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Charles E. Abramson, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

It is not notable: lack of reliable sources on the Internet etc

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Principles of Public Information

edit

Although this page was deleted in 2008, I see that in April this year you made a note on its talk page saying that it was free of copyright. Even so, I am afraid it is not suitable for Wikipedia: an encyclopedia is not a place to post copies of documents like this (see WP:NOTREPOSITORY #3 and Wikipedia:Do not include the full text of lengthy primary sources.

An encyclopedia article about these principles might be possible, but only if they have been the subject of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" so that the subject meets Wikipedia's inclusion criterion, called Wikipedia:Notability.

There is a sister project, Wikisource, which is a collection of source documents, and would probably be pleased to host a copy of these Principles. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:25, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
