Wikipedia help
editHow can I contribute to Wikipedia? I am a newcomer and I have never edited an article before. Can anyone help me understand Wikipedia and its policies so I can contribute? Thank you. Frogger48 (talk) 02:52, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- The welcome message above contains some helpful links. A nice introduction to editing is the tutorial. If you want to experiment with editing, please use the sandbox.
- The most important content policies are: No original research (Wikipedia cannot accept what hasn't been published elsewhere before), verifiability (cite reliable sources for your content), and maintain a neutral point of view (cover all significant points of view in proportion to their significance in reliable sources; don't assign some points of view or some facts undue weight). You may also want to have a look at what Wikipedia is not. Huon (talk) 03:21, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Someone can add information to list of common misconceptions if they can.

Someone can also help improve these Wikipedia articles;

You could also write articles about: -YAHUWans or YAHWU's people -The Word of YAH(Religious book of YAHUWans) -YAHUWAH -Family of YAH scriptures -Kingdom of YAH Ministries
Can people see this? Please someone tell me if you can. Frogger48 (talk) 02:45, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- It's visible, but this is a rather remote place, and few people will find it. If you wish to propose specific improvements to an article, that article's talk page usually is a much better place to do so than your own. If you want to request others to write an article, WP:Requested articles is the place to do so. You should provide reliable sources, though. Huon (talk) 05:49, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
Where you find the talk page for specific articles on Wikipedia? Frogger48 (talk) 02:26, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- At the very top of an article there's a "talk" tab to the right of the "article" tab. That will take you to the corresponding talk page. You can also find it via the search bar: For the talk page to article "X", search for "Talk:X". See Help:Talk for more help on talk pages. You seem to already have found Talk:Theory of multiple intelligences. Huon (talk) 03:53, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
Bias on Wikipedia
editThis help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Hello. What can be done about secretarian bias on Wikipedia to improve it? Frogger48 (talk) 02:01, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
- I think you mean a sectarian bias. Anyway, our neutrality policy helps keep bias in check by requiring that articles cover all notable viewpoints about a topic, in proportion to their prominence in reliable sources. So if you happen upon a biased article, you should find reliable sources for the omitted viewpoints, but you should be careful not to turn the article too far in the opposite direction. Nice
editAre there any nice people on Wikipedia? Frogger48 (talk) 17:14, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I could easily name many examples. Why? Huon (talk) 21:53, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
I don't find that there are very many nice people on any Wikipedia. What are some examples of nice people on Wikipedia? Frogger48 (talk) 21:42, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
- At a glance I was the only person on Wikipedia you have interacted with, so I must apologize for my lack of niceness. You may want to have a look at the Teahouse, a particularly new-user-friendly corner of Wikipedia. Their hosts include some of the nicest editors I know. But I've found that most Wikipedians are friendly and helpful, so that's not at all an exhaustive list of nice editors. Huon (talk) 23:43, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
