Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!
Castle Arenberg
editGreetings. I found your article creation at Castle Arenberg. Unfortunately it appears to me to be a verbatim copy of the material at arenberg.html. It also appears that the webpage would be copyrighted. That means that entering it in the Wikipedia is a copyvio. More details on how copyrights apply to Wikipedia can be found at Wikipedia:Copyrights. I have reworded your submission heavily in an attempt to avoid copyvio (the facts themselves are not copyrighted, the expression of those facts are). I am not positive I have succeeded.
If you have any questions please feel free to leave a message on my talk page User talk:RJFJR or for more general feedback Wikipedia:Village pump (policy) (I may have to refer your question there if it exceeds my ability, in any case).
[There remains the possibility, which I am unable to determine, that you are the original author of the website I found, in which case you own the copyright and are quite within your rights to add it to the Wikipedia. There are other possible cases where no copyright would apply to the web material; in general we must assume that copyright exists when there is doubt.]
I hope you will enjoy working on the Wikipedia and look forward to a long and successful collaboration. Sincerely, RJFJR 05:02, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Juhanson. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Juhanson~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
