Lack of edit summaries
editI note that you have made a succession of edits to E. Jean Carroll without applying an edit summary. Edit summaries are very important for monitoring articles and assessing Recent Changes. Please try to include a summary, even a brief one. Thanks. Adrian M. H. 21:09, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Help with refs
editWould you like any assistance with the refs on the E. Jean Carroll article? I answered an identical issue at User talk:BigKnish#Help with references, so that reply may help you. Adrian M. H. 22:02, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Image:E._Jean_PHOTO.jpg listed for deletion
editIf you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. BigDT 04:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)- No. Please see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images/media criterion 3. Images licensed for non-commercial use are not permitted and any that were uploaded after May 2005 are deleted on sight. [3] gives some of the reasons behind it. Any image where we could reasonably expect to have a free alternative created does not qualify for fair use. (Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content#Policy #1).
- Wikipedia has mirror sites like answers.com and about.com that mirror our content and run ads. The content is copied electronically and these sites have no way of knowing or understanding that the copyright holder doesn't find their reuse of this image acceptable.
- We can only use the image if the copyright holder releases it under the GFDL. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions on requesting this permission. --BigDT 17:38, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:TVWeekCover012108.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:TVWeekCover012108.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:38, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
