AfD nomination of Bruce DePalma

edit

I have nominated Bruce DePalma, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bruce DePalma. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. THF (talk) 14:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Actually I don't believe I created it, I think I moved it or something. Might have been a mini profile on the Brian DePalma page. I don't care if it's deleted.--Justfred (talk) 20:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Marie Laveau Song

edit

The song you were describing on the Marie Laveau talk page is "Marie Laveau" by Dr. John. To me, this sounds like a blues rewrite of the country novelty song "Marie Laveau" by Bobby Bare (written by Shel Silverstein, was a country number one in 1974). Both songs purport to about the "historical" Marie Laveau, Bare's is negative and Dr. John's is positive. I don't think it would be out of line to add them to the page. Both songs illustrate the "Saint"/"Witch" dichotomy of the Laveau legend. There is mention of the original "Marie Laveau" song on the Bobby Bare page, but not on the Laveau page.Lehcarrenee (talk) 00:44, 2 September 2009 (UTC)LehcarreneeReply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
