Emails
editPlease do not email me. If you have a question, the appropriate place to ask it is on my talk page. Read WP:COI on how to deal with coi issues. Wikipedia frowns on paid editing, which you and your fellow editor are. You also need to look at WP:PAID, and take the necessary steps. But since you've been so polite, and have sought out guidance, I'll help you with this article. First, avoid WP:PEACOCK terms, praise, and commentary. Phrases like "has united some of the best writing from his personal blog" are simply promotional in nature. Rather it should read something like, "which contained writings taken from his personal blog". Your version is complementary, while the second version is simply factual. Do that throughout the piece. Also, you need a ton more footnotes. Every assertion you make in the article needs a citation. Currently, most of the paragraphs are wholly unsourced. If you don't have a source from a secondary (the source has nothing to do with the subject), reliable (it has an independent editing board), source, than remove it. Hope that helps. When you've made the changes, hit me up on my talk page and I'll have another look. Onel5969 TT me 01:22, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Can you help verify translations of articles from Romanian
editHello,
Would you be able to help evaluate the accuracy of translations of Wikipedia articles from Romanian to English Wikipedia?
This would involve evaluating a translated article on English Wikipedia by comparing it to the original Romanian article, and marking it "Pass" or "Fail" based on whether the translation faithfully represents the original. Here's the reason for this request:
There are a number of articles on English Wikipedia that were created as machine translations from different languages including Romanian , using the Content Translation tool, sometimes by users with no knowledge of the source language. The config problem that allowed this to happen has since been fixed, but this has left us with a backlog of articles whose accuracy of translation is suspect or unknown, including some articles translated from Romanian. In many cases, other editors have come forward later to copyedit and fix any English grammar or style issues, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the translation is accurate, as factual errors from the original translation may remain. To put it another way: Good English is not the same as good translation.
If you can help out, that would be great. Here's a sample of the articles that need checking:
- Asociația Grupurilor Locale de Tineret
- Nicolae Bocșan ✓ Pass (ported by Mathglot (talk))
- Doina Florica Ignat ✓ Pass (ported by Mathglot (talk))
- Ioan Vulpescu ✓ Pass
- Elena Albu ✓ Pass — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justfun23 (talk • contribs) 23:03, March 27, 2018 (UTC)
All you have to do, is compare the English article to the Romanian article, and mark it "Pass" or "Fail" (templates {{Pass}} and {{Fail}} may be useful). (Naturally, if you feel like fixing an inaccurate translation and then marking it "Pass", that's even better, but it isn't required.)
If you can help, please let me know. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 10:00, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Mathglot I'll do my best when I have some free time, I'll make sure to take care of some of the articles. I've checked some of them, and I will give them ✓ Pass or ✗ Fail when needed, or simply fixing the errors and marking it with Pass. Cheers! Justfun23 (talk) @Mathglot: 09:54, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds great. And if you're hungry for more articles, we've got 'em, so let me know. ;-) Mathglot (talk) 10:46, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
- Done with the articles, rather late to be honest, but whole lot of stuff happened and I forgot entirely. Would be happy to help further, so I'll be waiting for some more articles ! Cheers!

Hi Justfun23,
I noticed you rated an article, thanks!
Just one thing: I realized that the instructions about marking pass/fail were not clear. That's my fault, sorry! Rather than mark up the articles themselves, we'd like people to indicate the pass/fail right here on their talk page, either inline, right next to the article titles we send you, or in a new section below it, whichever is easier for you. Sorry for any confusion! You don't need to do anything now; I'm going to fix the pass/fail marker at the article myself, so don't worry about fixing that one. I've copied your "pass" on Nicolae to the list above. But if you evaluate any other ones in the list above, could you just add the pass/fail indicator here? Thanks!
