Speedy deletion nomination of Evguenia Zelikova

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Evguenia Zelikova requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi Justin. The most important reason this article was deleted is because it appeared to about a living person that did not contain any independent references from reliable sources at all. Without references, there is no way to know whether the article was created with malicious intent. I assume you created the article without malicious intent but without references, how do we know that? A secondary consideration here is whether Jane/Evguenia may not pass the "notability" test for inclusion of people on Wikipedia, guided by the "WP:NOTINHERITED" essay about whether people associated with them (in this case, coaches, spouses and students) can support an assertion of notability. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about this in particular, or anything else related to the English language Wikipedia. --Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:26, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for taking time to clarify what is going on here. I do understand someone has to be "notable" to have a Wiki page here. I was hoping to establish a page and slowly add more information. Some information I collected is in Russian, which is not my native language. It will take time to sort out how to better provide the informatoin. Still, her (Evguenia Zelikova or Jane Pliner) to the figure skating world are visible. I understand I need to provide more information! The first two parts I can connect (easily) is one of her formal students who is now one of the best coaches in the world does list Jane as her teacher in her wiki page (Link: Eteri Tutberidze). As you mentioned, she was the wife of another well-know coach Edouard Pliner who passed away now. They have partnered to develop some great skaters/coaches. I started Edouard's wiki page here and was getting the same inquiry. Fortunately, someone assisted in building the materials with what I put in. I am hoping, there will be other collaborators will can contributes for this page to get it started, while I am compiling additional information. Any assistance from anyone will be greatly appreciated! Justin.chien (talk) 15:08, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
