Byzantine Empire/East-Hem Maps

edit

Hi Justinian43. Thank you for the compliment on the map. FYI, I've got a blank map available on my website (http://www.ThomasLessman.com/History/images/blank-East-Hem.jpg) that you can feel free to use for your own maps. I like this particular kind map because it shows the geography accurately, and when you add borders, etc. it gives you the impression of a modern-like border map. Kinda adds a neat twist and allows for more information for wiki-readers, IMHO. Respectfully, Thomas Lessman 14:30, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey great maps

edit

Could you revise ur angeloi map cos the Byzantines had a little less land in the center of anatolia than ur map currently suggests. Please see Kilij Arslan II and his conquests as well as a history of Turkey to see that Byzantine grip on Anatolia was undermined in more than just the south.

Also, could you provide a reference for your maps? Thanks, and keep it up Basileus. Tourskin 05:01, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

See the changes to Byzantine-Ottoman Wars. I appreciate your efforts, but please do leave a note afterwards (preferably before) when you make a map change - a 1430 map is not better than a 1389 map for a section discussiong the years 1370 - 1390, no? Tourskin 03:37, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Byzantium1215.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Image-Byzantium1215.JPG. The copy called Image:Image-Byzantium1215.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 01:44, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wonderful. If its ok with you, I can add references for you later, but I think this should be in the byzantine empire article - well done. Tourskin 04:17, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey I'm not trying to stalk you here but help you - this map is off because the Sultanate had taken much more land in 1182 after Manuel Komnenus Death:

Replacing existing maps

edit

Hello, I think it's awesome that you are constructing maps for Wikipedia! However, it is probably not a good idea to replace pre-existing maps of higher quality when the resolution on these new maps is a bit lacking (i.e. the text is very difficult to read in some cases). I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I, like you, want to make sure we have the highest quality graphics on this site. I encourage you to create novel maps that do not have a suitable graphic already in place. Kindest regards, AlphaEta T / C 03:02, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
