I have noticed all the work that you do at the Teahouse as well as messages to new users and wanted to thank you! It can be a bit overwhelming to start editing on Wikipedia and it's great to have people who make it a bit easier and a bit less scary. -- ☽☆ NotCharizard (talk) 14:32, 3 April 2022 (UTC) |

Question from Anabellesav (16:19, 6 April 2022)
Hello, how can I create a company page on Wikipedia? --Anabellesav (talk) 16:19, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Anabellesav welcome to Wikipedia! I would strongly discourage you from creating a company page, because creating your first article without much editing experience is extremely difficult and if it is a company that you share a conflict of interest with, please also read through at the very least the lead section (first 4 paragraphs) of the policy regarding COIs, also read through WP:1st and go through some of the links I've posted on your talk page. If you instead want to want to focus on making Wikipedia a better place, perhaps choosing another task would be a better idea. Thanks, and feel free to reply to this message if there is anything you don't understand, happy editing! Justiyaya 17:01, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – April 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2022).
- An RfC is open proposing a change to the minimum activity requirements for administrators.
- Access to Special:RevisionDelete has been expanded to include users who have the
deletelogentry
anddeletedhistory
rights. This means that those in the Researcher user group and Checkusers who are not administrators can now access Special:RevisionDelete. The users able to view the special page after this change are the 3 users in the Researcher group, as there are currently no checkusers who are not already administrators. (T301928) - When viewing deleted revisions or diffs on Special:Undelete a back link to the undelete page for the associated page is now present. (T284114)
- Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Procedures § Opening of proceedings has been updated to reflect current practice following a motion.
- A arbitration case regarding Skepticism and coordinated editing has been closed.
- A arbitration case regarding WikiProject Tropical Cyclones has been opened.
- Voting for the Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement guidelines has closed, and the results were that 56.98% of voters supported the guidelines. The results of this vote mean the Wikimedia Foundation Board will now review the guidelines.
Adoption
Question: I was wondering if you would be open to "adopting" me in the Adopt-a-user program. I was interested and then when I was looking through the potential adopters I was happy when I saw your name because you have already helped me with some other things (most recently by reccomending the CiteHighlighter script which has been very useful!) I mostly would appreciate help with learning how to best work with other Wikipedians and balancing being bold with not wanting to do anything wrong, as well general "learning the ropes" kind of thing (I've asked quite a few questions at the Teahouse now and worry about taking up space there). Please do not feel any pressure to accept! I know that we are all busy and that you have already one adopted user. Either way, I hope your day is lovely. -- NotCharizard 🗨 18:39, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Notcharizard Sure! Had my name up there for quite a while without getting much replies. The other adopted user isn't really active here anymore and I have some free time. Do you want a subpage created for this? Hope you have a great day! Justiyaya 03:50, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- That's great to read, thank you. Do you mean a user subpage, or talk subpage? I'm not sure what you meant. -- NotCharizard 🗨 06:15, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Notcharizard User subpage, and do you prefer it be located under your userpage or mine? Justiyaya 06:18, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Perhaps on mine, then once the adopteeship has ended it might be useful still for me to go back and check things in the future. -- NotCharizard 🗨 06:23, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Does a title of User:Notcharizard/Adoption sound good to you? @Notcharizard Justiyaya 06:30, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Yes that's perfect. -- NotCharizard 🗨 07:09, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from SpittingFacts21 (19:15, 20 April 2022)
How do I create a wiki page --SpittingFacts21 (talk) 19:15, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @SpittingFacts21, welcome to Wikipedia! It's best that you read WP:1st before trying to create a new article, please go through WP:AFC and ensure your topic is notable. Creating a new article is one of the hardest things for a new editor to do, consider choosing another task to do here. Thank you for trying to help Wikipedia and happy editing! Question from BrilliantMoon (07:20, 21 April 2022)
Hi Justiyaya, I wanted to know when can we become autoconfirmed user to be able to publish articles? --BrilliantMoon (talk) 07:20, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi BrilliantMoon, welcome to Wikipedia! It is recommended that you go through WP:AFC for your first few articles regardless of if you are autoconfirmed or not. Writing a brand new article is also one of the hardest things to do as a beginner, so consider choosing another task. If you really want to make a new article, please read through WP:1st and send me three sources that might establish notability for your subject. Justiyaya 11:38, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Just to answer your question, BrilliantMoon, one becomes autoconfirmed when they make ten edits and have been registered on Wikipedia for four days. Autoconfirmed users can also do more that non-autoconfirmed users cannot do. More information on that can be found at WP:AUTOCONFIRM. Thanks, Liamyangll (talk to me!) 23:00, 21 April 2022 (UTC) (talk page watcher)
