Proton Perdana (second generation)

Hi Guy. I was fixing a cite error on the article Proton Perdana (second generation), and had to remove a link to "www.wapcar.my" as it was blacklisted. No problem there, but what I found odd was the timing. I checked the blacklist page and you added the site back in September 2019, but the reference was added to the article in October 2021. Am I missing something, it seems that it shouldn't be possible? ActivelyDisinterested (talk) 21:59, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Unfortunately JzG is taking a long wikibreak. The MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist entry (\bwapcar\.my\b) was added by JzG on 11 September 2019. Your diff shows an IP adding wapcar.my in a ref on 26 October 2021. However, looking at ref 28 shows the cite error that you intended fixing and it appears that error hid the URL from the blacklist (I don't see the link in the rendered page). Yes I understand, that's the insidious nature of that error. Things hide behind it. Thanks for the reply. ActivelyDisinterested (talk) 22:55, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:07, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Christine Weston Chandler page ("Chris-chan")

Hi,

I see you are the administrator who salted the page Christine Weston Chandler. While I understand why such a page was salted in the past, it seems that she has (in recent years, at least) risen to a particular level of notability and I am requesting that the page be created.

Here is a small list of high-quality references speaking to her notability:

It makes sense that the page was originally locked because of the widespread harassment campaign, but I do not believe that is applicable these days.

JzG asked for his administrative priveleges to be removed quite a while ago - at present, he wouldn't be able to respond to your request. You could post at WP:AN, but be advised that multiple versions of articles and drafts about that individual have been deleted and oversighted recently - be careful what you say about them, and what sources you use. Thank you for the update. I did not see they had stepped down. --Mychemicalromanceisrealemo (talk) 08:59, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions topic area changes

In a process that began last year with WP:DS2021, the Arbitration Committee is evaluating Discretionary Sanctions (DS) in order to improve it. A larger package of reforms is slated for sometime this year. From the work done so far, it became clear a number of areas may no longer need DS or that some DS areas may be overly broad.

The topics proposed for revocation are:

  • Senkaku islands
  • Waldorf education
  • Ancient Egyptian race controversy
  • Scientology
  • Landmark worldwide

The topics proposed for a rewording of what is covered under DS are:

  • India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan
  • Armenia/Azerbaijan

Additionally any Article probation topics not already revoked are proposed for revocation.

Community feedback is invited and welcome at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Motions. --Barkeep49 (talk) 16:59, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Ponsse

Hello JzG! I noticed you've had a long wiki break, but I will leave you a message anyway. Back in April 2020 you added tags on Ponsse's article. Could you please evaluate, if they are still needed? Jjanhone (talk) 16:33, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
