Kirkham Grammar School

edit

I realise that you are trying to improve the article and it is great that you are doing so however please do not remove fact tags from articles as you did to Kirkham Grammar School unless you provide a fully verifiable third party source to confirm the content for which the fact tag has been inserted. I have restored the tag that you removed. I notice that you are also adding content taken from the school website. I should point out that you should not simply copy and paste content from another site as you are doing. If you wish to add content then it should be at least re-worded, and especially important it needs to be NPOV and also not use weasel words. Also content should really be sourced. Please se WP:CITE, WP:RS and WP:VER. This might read like a rant at you which it isn't meant to be. If you need any advice let me know.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:43, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message. By KGS, I presume you mean Kirkham Grammar School. I have not "policed" anything all I have done is try and make sure that the content is NPOV which is a wikipedia policy. Whether it looks bare or not is not the point, content needs to be sourced. Also some of the content you added simply read as if you had copy and pasted it from a school publication. I also offered above to help you with the article.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

By help with the citations, do you mean adding sources for the content that at present has no source? If so, I can add the sources for you if you like? For instance, all you would need to do is give me the URL for whatever page (EG on the KGS website, but I would also say that using the schools website can only be done "sparingly" and not as a main source. However, certainly for the schools history, if there is a page on the schools website then let me know the URL and I can use that) which verifies the content. As you will see I have added some content all of which is sourced from the Blackpool Gazette. Also some times the pass rate for GCSE's are on the BBC website. Adding content about the schools academic achievements in that regard is a good step.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:59, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
