editI was seeing "External link templates" down the "Categories" section of many author's articles first (if you look here you can get an idea of how it looked), and was playing with IMDb template because it's similar. I think it took me something like a half-hour of playing with the imdb template and the Template:Gutenberg_author template before I got rid of the problem. I think all is well for now. Thanks. 24.17.48.241 11:36, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Automotive lighting images
editSorry, do have back home a couple of Hella Comet FF fog lights (same unit as the aux. lights shown) lying about somewhere. Been too lazy to fix them to my Volvo. Won't be until next autumn before I get a chance to re-shoot. Nice you liked them, would be nice is someone from a SAE/DOT region would add similar to let us compare beam patterns (or make nice vector graphics images). Scoo 22:22, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Prime Suspect
editThanks for the fix on the episode numbers on the first Prime Suspect series. The three episode culprit is IMDb. While something about it didn't seem quite right I never took the time to do the extra steps of double checking it. That was foolish of me since I am well aware that IMDb isn't always reliable so I doubly appreciate your taking the time to get things right. Happy editing and cheers. The original and reverted text mentions the two motor-generators and provides the specifications for MG2 but there is no description of the function of MG1. This was the flaw I attempted to correct and was later backed out. I've put the corrections back in.
I do not care how MG1 is described beyond being accurate. But give some description of the functions of each and not just MG2. That would be incomplete and an obvious ommission. --bwilson4web--
Fair use rationale for Image:Dhoom2albumcover.jpg
editThis file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Dhoom2albumcover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 01:36, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
more deletions found from Cat:SACDs
editI'm not logged in but my username is LeedsKing. I have added another link to a deletion log of the pages that were in Cat:SACDs. Hope this helps.

Of course, for the full list, since many albums have no page on WP, see:

It wont come back, but thanks for the support on this issue. I'm gonna have a full list on my site too, WITH links to wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.105.251.160 (talk) 11:52, 18 February 2007 (UTC).
Hello KJBracey, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:The Sensorites.jpg) was found at the following location: User:KJBracey/The Sensorites. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 00:59, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
ENFIELD 8000 - Constantine Adraktas
editDear Mr. Bracey You might like to take a look on a note I sent to Mr. Skartsis
Dear Mr. Skartsis, The RANGE FIGURE appearing in the Commercial brochure you have posted in the ENFIELD 8000 article is wrong The Bikini, lacking the Aerodynamic characteristics of the ENFIELD 8000 ELECTRIC CITY CAR ( the E8000ECC ) had a RANGE and MAXIMUM SPEED like the ones appearing in the main text of the ENFIELD 8000 article The E8000ECC, however, which had a lower Aerodynamic coefficient than that of PORSCHE had a RANGE of 50 to 90 Miles ( 80 to 145 Kilometres ) and a MAXIMUM SPEED of 60 to 80 Miles per Hour ( 97 to 129 Kilometres per Hour ) ( the variation of the figures above was dependant on factors like the number of passengers, the ground gradients the number of stops and starts, the condition of the batteries etc ) Sincerely yours Constantine Adraktas The 1969 to 1975 Chairman, Managing and Technical Director of Enfield Automotive The negotiator and signatory of the Electricity Council - Enfield Automotive contract
Constantine Adraktas 07:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Dear Mr. Bracey,
If you search in Wikipedia for "User : Constantine Adraktas" or you click over my signature below, you will find the true story about Enfield Automotive and the Enfield 8000.
The true story, indeed, as I was the person who developed the Enfield 8000. managed Enfield Automotive in every respect for years and negotiated and signed the contract with the Electricity Council.
Yes, I know that a number of others have presented themselves as the "fathers" of the Enfield 8000!
Sincerely Yours

Dear Mr. Bracey,
Thank nyou for the note ypu posted on my Talk page.
As a follow up, PLEASE answer the following "(a) Where did you get the Range and Top Speed figures for the 'ENFIELD 8000 from? (b) Have you noticed the 215 per cent discrepancy between your figures for the ENFIELD 8000' and the 'BIKINI in the Image next to your text ? (the Bikini having the ENFIELD 8000 "under the skin" gear BUT not the 'Aerodynamics' of the ENFIELD 8000 !. If you are interested I could sent to your email a number if interesting Images of and about the ENFIELD 8000. My email is Constantine.Adraktas@MIT.Partners.eu Constantine Adraktas 12:28, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
One distinct difference between the E8000ECC and the Enfield models preceding it (and, maybe, the ones handled by Syros), was that:
(a) The E8000ECC was using 12 Volt batteries, organised in 2 groups of batteries, 4 batteries per group. The batteries in each group were connected in Series (Voltage was 48 Volts per group) and the 2 groups of batteries were connected in Parallel, hence the total Voltage was still 48 Volts.
(b) Previous models, like the one you based the ENFIELD 8000 article on (see the reference you quoted in my Page), were using 8 batteries of 6 Volts each connected in Series, hence the total Voltage was, again, 48 Volts. Constantine Adraktas 18:25, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Eleanorbron girlswhodocomedy.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Eleanorbron girlswhodocomedy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Colour swatch needed
editHi, KJB. You may remember quite awhile ago we had some productive discussion about the colour swatch in Selective yellow (see Talk:Selective yellow). I'd like to add an article about a notable variety of orange presently missing from the encyclopædia: Portland Orange, which is the colour stipulated in North American regulations for illuminated pedestrian "don't walk" crossing signals. The specification for Portland Orange, per ITE, are:
Yellow boundary
y = 0.390
White boundary
0.600 ≤ x ≤ 0.659
y = 0.990 - x
Red boundary
y = 0.33192 - x
The (x,y) points defining the boundaries of the region on the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram are (0.6095, 0.390) (0.600, 0.390) (0.659, 0.331) (0.669, 0.331)
Is this enough information to generate a usable colour swatch? I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea how to go about it. Can you assist? Thanks! —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 21:49, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
:Hokay, I've created the article and I just added Portland Orange to Template:Shades of orange. For some reason, it shows up on the template page, and it appears in the template in Portland Orange, in Amber, in Apricot, and in various other articles, but it's not showing up for me in Orange. Local cache has been bypassed and other browsers/other machines tried. What've I done wrong...? Or do I just need to wait, d'you think? Thanks for your help. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 18:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Never mind, it's present and working. I needed only to wait. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 20:16, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
