Welcome!
editWelcome to Wikipedia, K of slinky! Thank you for your contributions. I am Nczempin and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{helpme}}
at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Nczempin (talk) 13:34, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
A suggestion for edit summaries
editHi, I noticed that you do use edit summaries. However, rather than describing exactly what you did ("added 'it' after .."), could you please try to summarize the motivation behind it? In that case, a "copy edit" would have been appropriate. The other editors can easily see _what_ you did; the edit summary helps when they have doubts e. g. whether the edit was constructive. This wouldn't have applied in this particular case, but please keep it in mind for future edits. Anyway, after the template welcome, here's my hand written welcome: Welcome! Thank you so much for the welcome! It has been a while since I last edited, and no one ever gave me any hints on what to place in the edit summaries, so this is a welcome bit of information. Thanks again, and I'll try to keep it in mind next time! K of slinky (talk) 16:34, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- You're welcome (that should be enough welcomes for one day, but since no one ever welcomed you when you started out, consider it making up for those years :-). Perhaps this also helps with the edit summaries: Help:Edit summary. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Nczempin (talk) 16:50, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
