Welcome
editHi, Kabethme—I don't see any welcome on your page. Thanks so much for the edit to Intrusive thoughts (my prose stinks :-) I see you added yourself to LoCE; yea, another copyediter!! Have you gotten to know Tony1 (talk · contribs) and Deckiller (talk · contribs)? By the way, since you happened across Intrusive thoughts, Schizophrenia is a featured article that needs ce help, in case that's up your alley. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:09, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you didn't get a welcome sooner :-) A precaution; there is such a shortage of good copyeditors, that you may be inundated with requests once the word gets out, so you might want to decide how you want to focus your efforts. It can quickly become frustrating, and it wouldn't be good for you to get overwhelmed and give up :-) Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi there, Kabethme; yeah, sometimes I ration myself by copy-editing the lead to show them the extent of the problem! Your edits can be displayed to them to drive home your point! Tony 08:06, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Sale, Greater Manchester article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Thank you very much, if you can. Epbr123 16:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm very sorry I haven't had a chance to welcome you earlier, I have been incredibly busy lately. We are glad to have your help. Currently, we have really cut down the backlog of articles in need of copyedit. Therefore, a major goal at this moment is to identify new articles that are in need of work. When you run across them, be sure to tag them for copyediting.
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to drop me a line. Trusilver 21:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

League of Copyeditors roll call
editGreetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |
WikiProject St. Louis
editThere hasn't been much activity at WikiProject Missouri or any of its child projects lately, and I saw your name on the list of active participants. If you are willing to jump in again, please consider helping to revive the project:
- Put {{WikiProject Missouri}} on the talk pages of articles involving Missouri. This helps to categorize articles
- Write, cleanup, or expand an article about Missouri
- Source a Biography of a living person living in, born in, or otherwise affiliated with Missouri
- Help spread the word about the project
- Update the project page or the portal
- Watchlist or check the project talk page for updates
- Join one of the child projects:
If you know anyone who might be interested in Missouri (its history, culture, sports, people, places, architecture, etc.), please pass this message along to them! If you are still interested in the project but aren't currently active, please add yourself to the list of inactive participants at the bottom of this list. Thanks!
