Kamishiro
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Shambhu das article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. - Mike Rosoft 15:53, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:NYC group.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:NYC group.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Yamla 22:03, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:SG-Sinnicks-EPK-photo.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:SG-Sinnicks-EPK-photo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:48, 27 June 2015 (UTC) If you look at my profile here on Wikipedia[1], you will see that in fact, I AM the creator and copyright holder of this image.Kamishiro (talk) 17:56, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- Reply - Hi. AS anybody is able to register an account, Wikipedia needs to be able to validate that you are indeed the person claimed. I did look at your site and did see the image there. If send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org using an email associated with your site with a link to the image on your site, and a satement of the license uncer which you are releasing the image, this will get it all cleared up. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 18:05, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- Reply Thanks - email sent. Hopefully this clears it up. The article it is posted to is still awaiting approval, however we're hoping to have that cleared up as well.Kamishiro (talk) 19:31, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- Note - I want to draw your attention to Wikipedia's image use policy, and in particular, the section WP:WATERMARK. The image you have uploaded includes caption information in the image. A version without the caption would be more in line with the image use policy. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 23:49, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- Reply Thanks, I've uploaded the unmarked copy of the photo and resent the email. Are we there yet?
- Thanks for uploading the new image. I have replaced the deletion tag with {{OTRS pending}}. This lets other editors know that a permission email has been sent and is awaiting processing by the OTRS team to confirm the permission. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 11:31, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
