Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Karen Hodge - Transport", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 09:07, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm new to Wikipedia and on a learning curve. I don't believe my user name violates any policy as I am not doing any promotional content or advertising. I am providing facts and photos, where appropriate, on the Transport for NSW Opal Card rollout. All information I provide can be validated if required. Please let me know if you see something questionable on the Opal Card content as that is the only content I am updating. Let me know if you need more information as I am very much a beginner.Karen Hodge - Transport (talk) 22:06, 11 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Have you read our conflict of interest documentation? I recognize that you're a beginner, that's why I gently am leading you ... and all information on Wikipedia MUST be validated, but not to their business website, but elsewhere (✉→BWilkins←✎) 09:06, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I've read them. I think the burden is on me to ensure the info I post is in the public's interest rather than where I work. Thankfully, all the info is provided by Transport for NSW and is therefore validated. I have to get used to citing the source in each post. Thanks for the guidance. But this is an encyclopedia ... we're not here to publish things from the NSW Transit association ... we serve a very different "public interest". Typically that means that if it's referenced to NSW transit, it's not acceptable on this encyclopedia (✉→BWilkins←✎) 23:10, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please have a look at the type of content I have provided to date, eg photos, logos and rollout information. This is accurate and correct information for an encyclopedia not business material. Let me know if this is an issue.Karen Hodge - Transport (talk) 01:54, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi Karen. Welcome to wikipedia and thanks for your efforts. Please note from Conflict of Interes, Wikipedia's position: "They [persons with a conflict of interest] are also encouraged to disclose their interest on their user pages and on the talk page of the article in question" John Bentley (talk) 21:08, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for "yet another comment" but I thought if I could settle one issue stated here, that would be one less thing to concern yourself and just start editing. Regarding your username, having an username of a company and/or group is not allowed for obvious "advertising" reasons, there is a suggested way around this problem (if the user really wants their company/group as part of their name), this is done by adding something personal to the username ie. a nickname, real name and so on, exactly what you have done. There is nothing (that I can see) wrong with your username. Happy editing, Mlpearc (powwow) 16:48, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have made a change to the photo caption for an Opal Card Reader which is the correct terminology used to describe the Opal Fixed Location Reader (Opal FLR)
