Speedy deletion nomination of Article stopped appearing in google search

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Article stopped appearing in google search requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. And Adoil Descended (talk) 13:11, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

((help me)) I am a complete novice at Wikipedia, this is my first article. I have just noticed that the external links to and you tube videos that I included in the page and also the website that links to the subject's support site, have all been deleted. The website in particular is relevant as a source of further information and was used because the subject's website is currently under construction. We asked and received permission to use our website address as an alternative until his was up and running again. Can somebody explain why the external links and the website links have all been deleted? Thank you

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 06:16, 3 July 2012 (UTC) I didn't realise that. Colin Ratushniak - website edit

edit

I have reversed the edit done recently which took out the website address from my article. I have only included it in the Infobox and not in the body of the article as a compromise. The website is an official site for Colin Ratushniak and, in the absence of his own website at the moment, he has agreed he his happy for this to appear until his own is published. The website provides substantial information on his background, biography and show history which, I believe, reinforces and builds upon the information on the page. Thank you. --Karendawes (talk) 14:07, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Revert Edit

edit

I have reverted the edit that merged the page with another. This skater's notoriety as a professional ice skater is acceptable. He is known in the UK from his time on Dancing on Ice and his participation in shows such as Holiday on Ice and Kyran Bracken's Ice Party. He has a significant following on Twitter and Facebook already and this will only increase now that he has moved to the UK. Karendawes (talk) 11:23, 29 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Colin Ratushniak does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! ukexpat (talk) 15:49, 30 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Colin Ratushniak, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gareth Thomas (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Declined speedy

edit

Hey, I declined the speedy since other people have edited and an AfD closed as a keep back in 2012. I would recommend that if you're interested in deletion, that you go through AfD rather than continue to try to speedy delete it. Given the article's history, running this through AfD would be a better choice. The problem is that while you've done a lot of editing, Ratushniak has been considered notable and this kind of supercedes the edits you've done. You'd have to prove that he's non-notable at this point or give a very, very good reason beyond you wanting the article deleted. Once you add information to Wikipedia, it ceases to be your material. It becomes the "property" of Wikipedia, so to speak. You can request its deletion, but saying that you want it deleted because you wrote it smacks of WP:OWNERSHIP, which is discouraged on Wikipedia. • I've decided to go ahead and nominate it for you, but again I have to stress that you'd need a good reason other than "I wrote it and now I want it gone" since it went through AfD once already. I have to admit, I'm a little puzzled as to why you want it deleted since you defended it so vociferously the last time it went through a deletion discussion.
