Personalities, historically, in Iran
editKashk, could you clarify, if you are aware of the details, did Barbad create the dastgahs? I noticed in the Barbad article that he is credited with creating the tradition that included dastgahs; but it doesn't precisely say whether he made them. Thanks. Timur
editI know that "Turkic" is different from "Turkish". But at the same time, "Chaghatai Turkish" - which is linked to Chaghatai language - is also different from "(Anatolian) Turkish".
The term "Chaghatai language" is quite new, and in the past - before the creation of Turkey - the term "Turkish" was used for the Turkic Chaghatai language (as evident in the writings of Lutfi, Nawa'i, and Babur).
In this context, the term "Chaghatai TurkiSH" is correct.
My RFA
editKashk, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC) |
There is much original research at the article. It should be recommended for peer review or something (if it is possible) to clean out the personal opinions and POV junk. Kouroush 13:08, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
editAlthough no consensus was reached in the end, I still wanted to thank you for your vote in my recent RfA. Thank you very much. Fritz S. (Talk) 17:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Good timing
editI was about to wrap up my computer usage for today, but saw your message, so good timing. Thanks for the best wishes. Hopefully, it will go well with Azeris. I'd be glad to turn Persians into a featured article. At this point, I can guarantee that I can turn it into a featured article as I think I understand all the criteria needed and I can do so fairly quickly (within a week for sure) given my current work schedule. I was thinking of doing Armenians or History of Armenia next, but I think they might not be inclined to my, shall we say, 'take-over' even if with the best of intentions and results. ;) If you guys are okay with my strictly academic approach (and with aid from Ali doostzadeh, in particular, and other folks who have been quick with the academic sources and suggestions) I believe I could probably do an even better job with Persians just because I think I'm improving with each article (Pashtuns had 57 citations, Azeris now has 77 and counting). I realize we've had our differences, but hopefully that's in the past and if you're all okay with it, I'll start working on Persians next. At this point, I think everyone knows what to expect and I would, of course, probably end up putting even more citations just to make sure people don't come in and start screwing things up. Anyway, let me know what you think. Ciao for now. Tombseye 00:06, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Good Work on Your edits
editI am coming across a lot articles that say Turkish Azari and Turkish this and Turkish that and even that the Akkadians were Turks. Does anybody verify this information is true? 69.196.164.190

Picture of Azari Refugess
editAlthough I am concerned and upset about both Azari and Armenia refugees and beleive they are essentially the same people, on an academic basis I question this picture being posted on this article. It seems to be POV, and once again the article seems to be getting a non-neutral, biased Republic of Azarbaijan tilt to it again. I object to the posting of this picture and I also ask all editors to consider the changes being made recently. 69.196.164.190

Who's who in the Shajarian concert photo?
editThank you for contributing the Shajarian concert photo. Please identify the individual players in the caption if you know who's who, e.g. "Mohammad Reza Shajarian, 1st/2nd/3rd/4th from left", "Homayoun Shajarian, 1st/2nd/3rd/4th from left", etc. --Cheers, Bwiki 22:39, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
