A few tips and tricks
editThank you for contributing the article Anselm Skogstad. I'd like to point out though that you shouldn't use html breaks inside flowing text because it will override the default Wikipedia formatting. The standard for listing items and events is creating a bullet list by placing an asterisk * in front of each entry like
- Blah
- Foo
Also, section headings are not written in italics. Please use ==Heading level 1==, ===Heading level 2=== etc. for sections and subsections. Happy editing, De728631 (talk) 19:05, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
File:Anselm Skogstad.jpg
editHello again. Please add a copyright information for this picutre as soon as possible on Wikimedia commons. It is not sufficient to state that it is your own work but you must apply a license for the use of the image by Wikimedia and its projects, especially if the picture has already been published anywhere else! De728631 (talk) 14:10, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- P.S.: When you reply on other editors' talk pages, please open a new topic at the bottom of the page instead of writing into existing threads. This makes it easier to read your statements. De728631 (talk) 14:13, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 03:07, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Katrin. I have added a description for this file, but we still need the source you got the file from and a permission for Wikipedia to use it. Please edit the form at File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg. If you took this picture yourself you can add "own work" as a source. The "Author" parameter refers to the copyright holder of the image, so e.g. this may be you, another person or a related company. Now for the license, Wikipedia needs a statement that this image can be used for the purposes of this encyclopedia. The easiest way is to release the image into the public domain by adding {{PD-user|Katrin Bandung}} in the "Permission" field, or to apply the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license by adding {{CC-by-sa-3.0}}.
- Should this image already have been published anywhere else, e.g. on Anselm's website, please read Wikipedia:Contact us/Photo submission and send an email to the address given there, stating that you wish to donate "File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg" to Wikipedia for use in the project. After mailing the response team, please add a license of your choice at the image's page and put {{OTRS-pending}} on there, just below the permission template. I hope I could answer your questions, otherwise please feel free to contact me again. De728631 (talk) 17:49, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- To change the file parameters, go to this site File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg, and click the "edit this page" tab on top of the page like you would do when you edit an article. Then there's a template with several parameters, including "Permission". Behind the = sign you can insert your permission form as mentioned above. De728631 (talk) 20:51, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- I just saw you already tried to apply the public domain tag, so I've fixed that now for you. Now we only need a source statement that says where you got this image from. And there's no need to upload the file itself again and again, you can edit the storage page as I explained above. De728631 (talk) 20:55, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- How come in the article Anselm Skogstad you placed a (c) Jan Sobottka below the image? This is very important to mention on the file page as well, because if Jan Sobottka has the copyright for the image we cannot display it without a fair use rationale and you cannot license it into the public domain! Only Jan Sobottka could do that. De728631 (talk) 21:00, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Then why did you add his name in the first place? Sorry, but we can't be sure any more you're telling the truth. De728631 (talk) 21:25, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, as we can't be sure now and the Wikimedia Foundation is really strict when it comes to copyright issues, we now need a statement from Mr. Jan Sobottka that he waives any rights to this picture, to be sent to photosubmission@wikimedia.org. Unless that issue we can't display the image and it will possibly be deleted in the meantime. De728631 (talk) 21:35, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, alright. Thanks a lot for your patience. To get rid of this quirked file you may want to place {{db-author}} on top of the File:Anselm Skogstad .jpg page so it gets deleted. In the meantime you can upload another image of Anselm from your archive, using a new name for that file. De728631 (talk) 21:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Statements Anselm Skogstad
editPromotional or not, I also removed these parts because they contained a huge number of inline weblinks, which is considered spamming unless you want to reference a fact (in which case you should use the <ref></ref> syntax to produce footnotes. And what is more important, you cannot simply copy large amounts of texts from elsewhere to Wikipedia, because that would be a copyright violation. What you brought up in the article was way too much to make it a quote, instead you displayed the entire statements which certainly have been published somewhere in a leaflet, on a website, a magazine or elsewhere. You should rewrite the paragraphs in your own words, and then, at the end of each section give a reference footnote to the source article you used. De728631 (talk) 01:08, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Katrin Bandung
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on User:Katrin Bandung, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of User:Katrin Bandung and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alexf(talk) 11:30, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
The article Anselm Skogstad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability. No independent sources cited, and little or no coverage in reliable independent sources found on searching.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JamesBWatson (talk) 07:54, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
